Job Description
The role focuses on building and integrating AI‑enabled capabilities into enterprise applications under the AIden (AI Enabler) programme, enabling “AI for Everyone.” This position requires strong full‑stack engineering skills combined with practical AI integration experience, supporting use cases where specialized AI skills are not available within the wider team. Prior exposure to NatWest environments is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain AI‑enabled backend services using Python and FastAPI.
- Build and integrate agent‑based AI solutions using agent frameworks and MCP concepts.
- Develop scalable, responsive front‑end applications using React and TypeScript.
- Design and manage data persistence layers using PostgreSQL, including schema design and performance optimization.
- Integrate AI concepts and services into applications, enabling intelligent workflows and automation.
- Implement and maintain ORM‑based data access layers for clean and maintainable codebases.
- Collaborate within Agile Scrum teams, actively participating in sprint planning, stand‑ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Use Jira and Confluence for requirement tracking, documentation, and delivery transparency.
- Manage source control using Git and integrate builds, tests, and deployments through CI/CD pipelines.
- Work closely with cross‑functional teams to deliver AI capabilities where niche AI expertise is limited within the programme.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering standards, code quality, and delivery practices.

- Strong experience working in Agile environments.
- Hands‑on experience with Scrum methodology.
- Proficiency with Jira and Confluence for Agile delivery and documentation.
Experience
- Considerable professional software development experience.
- Prior NatWest experience is highly desirable.
