Job Description

We are looking for a Software Engineer with strong expertise in IDE extension development and debugging workflows to contribute to the evolution of Visual Studio and Visual Studio Code extensions. This role is focused on hands-on development within the Windows Visual Studio MI Engine, ensuring compatibility with future releases and enabling advanced debugging capabilities.

Role & Responsibilities:

- Involved in developing and maintain Visual Studio extensions with a focus on MIEngine integration.

- Re-enable the GDB extension for Visual Studio 2022.

- Update Visual Studio extensions and automated tests to ensure compatibility with Visual Studio 2026.

- Implement new MIEngine commands to support GPU lane debugging.

- Enable GDB extension functionality for Visual Studio Code on Windows.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration and testing workflows.

- Contribute to version control, peer reviews, and CI/CD pipelines across Windows and Linux platforms.

Requirements:

- Minimum 5+ years of experience in software development and testing.

- At least 2+ years of experience in IDE plugin/extension development.

- Strong knowledge of Windows OS internals and debugging workflows.

- Proficiency in C# for extension development.

- Familiarity with Visual Studio SDK and extension APIs.

- Understanding of MIEngine and GDB/MI interfaces.

- Experience with Git, peer reviews, and continuous integration.

- Exposure to both Windows and Linux development environments.

Preferred Skills

- Experience with performance debugging and profiling tools.

- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

- Ability to work independently and deliver against milestones.
