Key Responsibilities
• Develop, implement, and maintain configuration management processes and procedures in alignment with ITIL and organisational best practices.
• Manage the Configuration Management Database (CMDB), ensuring accurate and up-to-date records of configuration items (CIs), their relationships, and dependencies.
• Conduct regular audits and reconciliations of configuration data to ensure data integrity and compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
• Collaborate with service owners, project managers, and technical teams to capture and update configuration information throughout the lifecycle of IT services and infrastructure.
• Support change management processes by assessing the impact of proposed changes on configuration items and maintaining proper documentation.
• Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle management of hardware assets, including procurement, receipt, deployment, maintenance, and disposal.
• Maintain comprehensive asset inventories and ensure accurate asset tagging, tracking, and documentation.
• Coordinate with procurement, finance, and facilities teams to manage asset acquisition, warranty, and contract information.
• Monitor asset utilisation and performance to identify opportunities for optimisation and cost savings.
• Ensure compliance with software licensing, regulatory, and security requirements related to hardware assets.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for configuration and hardware asset-related queries across IT, procurement, finance, and other relevant departments.
• Facilitate regular collaboration meetings to review asset and configuration status, resolve issues, and drive process improvements.
• Develop and deliver training programmes for stakeholders on configuration and asset management processes and tools.
• Lead initiatives to integrate configuration and asset data with other IT service management (ITSM) modules, such as incident, problem, and change management.
• Generate regular and ad-hoc reports on asset inventory, configuration status, compliance, and financial metrics.
• Analyse trends and provide recommendations to senior management for strategic planning, risk mitigation, and cost control.
• Support audits and provide evidence of compliance with internal and external standards.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness of configuration and asset management.
• Stay updated with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes related to asset and configuration management.
• Establish robust governance frameworks to ensure accountability and oversight of configuration and asset management processes.
• Define clear roles and responsibilities for governance committees and stakeholders.
• Implement regular reviews and audits to maintain compliance with organisational policies and regulatory requirements.
• Provide transparent and timely reporting to senior management, highlighting key metrics, risks, and areas for improvement.
• Utilise dashboards and analytics to monitor performance and support data-driven decision-making.

• Proficiency in ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, BMC Remedy) and asset management solutions.
• Attention to detail, with a commitment to data accuracy and process compliance.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive process change.
• Knowledge of software licensing, contract management, and IT procurement processes is desirable.
