Role Purpose

We are looking for a motivated Support Engineer with VB6 experience to join our team, starting with Level 1 and Level 2 support responsibilities and offering a clear path to grow into Level 3 support. This role involves handling incidents, service requests, and enhancements while collaborating with business users and technical teams. You will gain exposure to complex problem-solving, ITIL processes, and development tasks, providing an excellent opportunity to advance your technical expertise and career

Mandatory skills:  5+ years of experience with Visual Basic 6, .NET Framework, SQL Server

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide L1 and L2 support for incidents, service requests, and enhancements
  • Opportunity to progress into L3 support for complex technical issues.
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for technical problems.
  • Analyse and troubleshoot issues, proposing effective remediation.
  • Interact with customers on reported issues and manage expectations.
  • Collaborate with internal IT teams and third-party suppliers for ticket triage and software upgrades.
  • Identify operational improvements and report to the Operate Lead.
  • Ensure SLA adherence for new and existing services.
  • Maintain knowledge management artefacts (service catalogues, lessons learned).
  • Support automated deployment tools from a support perspective.
  • Act as a Developer for Operate requirements, including resolving production defects and urgent enhancement requests.
  • Assist in testing activities by creating test data and executing test cases.
  • Perform quality checks and code reviews.
  • Develop and maintain operational and system-level documentation.

Mandatory Skills

Minimum 5+ years of experience in:

  • Visual Basic 6
  • .NET Framework
  • SQL Server
  • Proficient in English with strong communication skills for interaction with business users.
  • Experience in L1 and L2 Support for incidents, service requests, and enhancements.
  • Solid knowledge of ITIL processes and implementation experience.
  • Experience in Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity

Desired Skills

  • Experience with PowerBase application.
  • Knowledge of Data Warehouse concepts (e.g., MDM) and Database Management.
  • French and/or Dutch language skills (additional advantage).
  • 8+ years of experience in Business Life is a strong plus.
