The role of Sales Hunter - PSU at Wipro Technologies is a pivotal position focused on expanding our footprint within the Public Sector Units (PSU) and government Ministries. You will be responsible for proactively identifying and acquiring new client logos, as well as managing strategic account plans that drive revenue growth in these critical sectors.

Your mission includes analyzing market trends, understanding client-specific business nuances, and developing targeted account strategies to unlock new opportunities. Collaborating closely with Global Capability Practice (GCP) leaders and cross-functional vertical teams, you will identify avenues for cross-selling and upselling to maximize revenue streams.

You will actively engage in market development activities, leveraging branding, marketing events, and thought leadership materials like case studies and white papers. These initiatives will position Wipro's differentiated portfolio as a strategic enabler for client success.

Executing hunting strategies with a sharp focus on new client acquisition is essential, involving detailed account plans, first-level stakeholder engagements, and collaborative solution structuring with pre-sales and Lines of Business teams. The role demands diligent opportunity qualification, deal structuring, and leading commercial negotiations to ensure profitable outcomes.

Additionally, you will cultivate and deepen relationships with key decision-makers across multiple client functions, becoming a trusted IT advisor. Building alliances with partners and influencers in your geography and networking within Wipro will facilitate deeper client penetration and expanded opportunities.

Finally, you will contribute to continuous innovation by providing market insights to enhance service line competencies and developing compelling presentations and proof of concepts that demonstrate Wipro’s capabilities tailored for the PSU sector.

Job Description

Role Overview

As a Sales Hunter at Wipro Technologies, you will take charge of driving growth in the PSU and Government Ministries segments by engaging new clients and expanding business opportunities. This role is critical to the success of our service line and requires a strategic approach to navigating complex governmental and public sector environments.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Strategic Account Planning: Craft and implement detailed account plans targeting client acquisition and achieving hunting revenue objectives within PSU and ministries, focusing on understanding client ecosystems, identifying key decision-makers, and recognizing solution needs.
  2. Market Development & Pipeline Generation: Utilize branding initiatives such as executive roundtables, industry networking forums, and digital campaigns to create awareness and position Wipro as a preferred partner. Develop thought leadership content and conduct client executive workshops to instigate buying interest.
  3. Hunting Execution and Opportunity Management: Lead end-to-end hunting lifecycle from first contact, opportunity qualification, collaboration with internal pre-sales, to deal structuring and commercial negotiation, ensuring alignment with profitability and revenue goals.
  4. Relationship Building & Client Advocacy: Establish and nurture trusted advisor relationships with CXO and senior business executives across client organizations, leveraging influence across diverse stakeholders including business, operations, and management functions.
  5. Competency Enhancement & Solution Innovation: Continuously gather insights into industry trends and client demands to offer recommendations for evolving service line solutions. Create case studies and prototypes that reinforce Wipro’s differentiated value proposition.
  6. Revenue Tracking & Delivery Oversight: Monitor opportunity progression from order booking through fulfillment and invoicing to revenue realization, with possible involvement in managing small accounts and escalations to ensure client satisfaction and contract adherence.

This role requires a dynamic self-starter who excels at building strategic, long-term client partnerships within the public sector, driving sustainable revenue growth while operating with tact and professionalism in a complex market environment.

Qualifications & Experience

  • At least 18 years of overall professional experience with a minimum of 10 years in sales and/or business development roles focused on the IT sector and specifically within the PSU and government segments.
  • Proven history of successfully managing large outsourcing sales cycles and client engagements, particularly within the Middle East or similar regional markets.
  • Exceptional networking skills with an established CXO-level contact base within public sector organizations and ministries, enabling strategic entry and sustained business development.
  • Strong ability as a self-motivated leader capable of independently driving complex sales opportunities with a results-oriented, can-do mindset.
  • Proficient English communication skills, both verbal and written, facilitating effective negotiations, presentations, and relationship management.
  • Project management experience advantageous to effectively oversee delivery aspects post-sales and address client concerns or escalations as needed.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel regionally to meet client and organizational needs.
  • Attributes including openness, team collaboration, analytical thinking, resilience, and strong commercial acumen.
