Business Analyst – Retail Domain

Role Summary
We are seeking a detail‑oriented Business Analyst with strong retail and food distribution domain expertise to support analytics, process improvement, and solution delivery initiatives. The ideal candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, IT, and data teams to gather requirements, analyze processes, and ensure successful delivery of projects that improve operational efficiency, enhance customer experience, and support business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Requirements Gathering & Analysis
- Collaborate with stakeholders across merchandising, supply chain, inventory, and sales to capture business needs and translate them into functional specifications.
- Facilitate workshops, interviews, and process mapping sessions to understand pain points and opportunities.
- Analyze and document as‑is and to‑be business processes.
- Retail & Food Distribution Focus
- Apply domain knowledge of retail and food distribution operations, including procurement, warehouse management, demand planning, and order fulfillment.
- Support initiatives around product lifecycle management, pricing, promotions, and category management.
- Partner with supply chain teams to analyze demand, reduce waste, and improve delivery efficiency.
- Data & Reporting
- Work with data teams to define reporting requirements, KPIs, and dashboards.
- Validate data outputs for accuracy and alignment with business logic.
- Assist in adoption of BI tools such as Tableau, Sigma, or Power BI for self‑service analytics.
- Project Delivery
- Act as a liaison between business users and technical teams to ensure clear understanding of requirements.
- Support Agile delivery processes including backlog grooming, sprint planning, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Track and report project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 6-10 years of experience as a Business Analyst in the retail or food distribution domain.
- Strong understanding of retail processes, including merchandising, inventory management, sales, and supply chain.
- Experience with data analysis, business process mapping, and documentation (BRD, FRD, user stories).
- Familiarity with BI/reporting tools (Tableau, Sigma, Power BI) and SQL for data validation.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of ERP or order management systems (e.g., SAP, Manhattan, Oracle Retail).
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools (Jira, Confluence).
- Exposure to cloud data platforms (AWS, Snowflake) is a plus.
