Job description and Duties:

 

Facilitate team for better creativity and tries to improve the efficiency of the development team.

Should be a good coach in Agile practices. S/he can coach individuals and interactions over processes and tools.

Responsible for managing the scrum process with the coordination of scrum team in Agile methodology.

Responsible to remove the impediments for the scrum team.

Facilitate daily scrum, sprint planning, sprint demo and retrospective meetings.

Helps product owner to make the product backlogs in good shape and make them ready for the next sprint.

Responsible to Conduct retrospective meetings.

Ensure the correct use of scrum process.

Help team or individual to clarify goals and actions to achieve them.

Track and remove impediments.

 

Required Skills:

 

1) Knowledge of agile methodology and frameworks like Scrum, Kanban.

2) Good skills to coach team how to follow agile scrum.

3) Understand the basic fundamentals of iterative and incremental development.

4) Strong knowledge of Scrum theory, rules and practices.

5) Knowledge about other methodologies other than Agile-Scrum, so that he can explain other methodologies to motivate his team.

6) Basic knowledge of software development processes and procedures to understand his team needs.

7) Should have knowledge about Agile techniques like: User Stories, Continuous Integration, TDD, Continuous Testing, Automated Testing.

8) Ability to take and understand his commitment to deliver the product on time.

9) Know about the value of metrics and incremental delivery.

10) Knowledge about tasks, backlog tracking, burndown metrics, velocity, user stories etc.

11) Possesses conflict resolution, does conversation by focusing on scrum values of openness, honesty and respect.

Do

  • Is accountable for meeting Sprint objectives along with scrum team
  • Ensure meeting of sprint commitment
  • Own and help resolve impediments of the team
  • Help PO adopt Scrum Process properly and ensure PO availability
  • Support the PO in maintaining the Product Backlog, defining User Stories and Acceptance Criteria
  • Facilitate estimation, backlog refinement and all planning ceremonies
  • Ensure that DOR, DOD, Acceptance criteria is available and adhered to
  • Ensure MoSCoW adherence of Sprint Backlog at the Sprint level
  • Accountable for the correct implementation of the Agile Process
  • Protect the team from external interference.
  • Facilitate technical assistance to the team and enables clear communication amongst the team members
  • Participate in Scrum of Scrum across teams and highlights impediments
  • Provide feedback on the team members performance to the Agile Line manager and Agile Program Leader
  • Facilitate all the Scrum Ceremonies (Planning, Daily Standup, Grooming, Demo, restrospection) and ensure correct adoption

  • Ensure updating of all Scrum artifacts
  • Ensure ALM tool (either client or Wipro) is updated on a daily basis
  • Update key Scrum metrics into Wipro internal tool on a Sprint-by-Sprint basis
  • Analyse key Scrum metrics and take corrective actions
  • Create competency improvement and cross-skilling plan for the team (by the start of the project). Review monthly and ensure improvement in competency score. Ensure multiskilling for at least 50% of the team.
  • Help team attain stable velocity within 6-8 sprints (allowing for 10% variation either way)
  • Train team on the proper adoption of Agile processes  (Scrum / XP / Kanban)
  • Help in adoption of engineering practices like ATDD, TDD, CI, CD, Refactoring
  • Record and own the restrospection actions
  • Participate in community of practice initiatives
  • Provide inputs to the Line manager for internal quality forums (QIC  / APR / QBR / MBR etc.)
