Job Description

Candidate’s key responsibilities would include supporting the London Tax team in the following areas:

  • quarterly tax provisions and forecasting process for EMEA House entities including the reporting of cash tax payments and the preparation of uncertain tax positions (‘FIN 48’) calculations.
  • annual corporate tax compliance for EMEA House entities, including performing a first level review of the local tax advisor’s work papers and draft tax returns and partnering with them to ensure the timely submission of all tax filings and settlement of local tax liabilities.
  • preparation and collation of tax data for EMEA House entities in respect of the annual tax reporting requirements for the Group in the US.
  • preparation and collation of annual tax communications and elections.
  • coordination of the Country-by-Country (‘CbC’) notification process for EMEA House entities with the local tax advisors and BX Finance teams.
  • preparation of work papers and completion of assessments relating to key tax reporting requirements in the UK pertaining to the ERS tax return (‘Form 42’) and the off payroll working provisions (‘IR35’).
  • monthly monitoring and collation of Transfer Pricing input data, including analyzing key trends and movements and reporting these to the BX International Tax team.
  • support on other miscellaneous tax initiatives and ad-hoc requests.

 

Desired Candidate Profile:

 

  • Candidate must be a Post-Graduate or Chartered Accountant / Chartered Tax Adviser with 1-5 years of corporate tax compliance experience. Note: this does not need to be specific to the UK / EMEA and can be obtained in a comparable jurisdiction. Exposure to international tax compliance and reporting is preferred. This role must have sufficient tax experience.   
  • Must be personable with ability to develop strong relationships both within the International Tax team and across the business, including the in-House Finance teams, and work collaboratively with external tax advisors.
  • Must be a team player and enthusiastic to learn and grow in the role.
  • Strong Microsoft Office and project management skills, including the ability to work on and manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver under tight deadlines.
  • Must possess strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills. Numeracy and an eye for detail are essential for this role.
  • Effective communication in verbal and written English, including the ability to communicate complex tax and accounting issues.
  • A desire to work in an international team environment and drive process improvement across all areas of involvement.
