Job Description
The Hardware Portfolio Manager is responsible for defining, governing, and evolving the enterprise hardware portfolio for end user devices and accessories. This role sets the strategic direction for device lifecycle management, ensures strong vendor partnerships, maintains accurate and compliant hardware data within ServiceNow, and engages business stakeholders to shape a portfolio that meets current and future needs.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Portfolio Strategy & Lifecycle Management
- Defines the enterprise portfolio strategy for computers, peripherals, and accessories across all user personas and business functions.
- Establishes lifecycle policies covering introduction, refresh, support, and retirement of hardware models.
- Ensures the portfolio aligns with security, architecture, sustainability, and operational support standards.
- Develops a forward-looking roadmap that anticipates technology evolution, business demand, and cost optimization opportunities.
2. OEM & Vendor Management
- Owns strategic relationships with OEMs and hardware suppliers, ensuring alignment on roadmap, supply chain stability, and product evolution.
- Leads evaluation and selection of new hardware models using structured criteria (performance, durability, cost, sustainability, supportability).
- Collaborates with OEMs on future technology direction, pilot programs, and innovation opportunities.
- Ensures vendors meet contractual obligations related to quality, lifecycle support, warranties, and end of life planning.
3. Service Integration & Catalog Governance (ServiceNow)
- Works closely with the ServiceNow/Service Integration team to ensure hardware models are accurately represented, normalized, and maintained in the CMDB and product catalog.
- Oversees catalog governance processes, ensuring timely updates for new models, retired items, configuration changes, and pricing adjustments.
- Ensures lifecycle metadata (support dates, warranty terms, refresh eligibility) is consistently maintained and audit ready.
- Partners with Asset Management to ensure alignment between portfolio standards, HAM Pro processes, and operational workflows.
4. Business Engagement & Portfolio Feedback
- Acts as the primary point of contact for business units regarding hardware needs, feedback, and future requirements.
- Conducts regular engagement sessions to gather insights on user experience, emerging needs, and pain points.
- Translates business feedback into portfolio improvements, new model evaluations, and roadmap adjustments.
- Communicates portfolio changes, lifecycle updates, and standards to stakeholders in a clear and structured manner.

Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of EUC hardware, lifecycle management, and persona based device strategy.
- Experience with OEM engagement, vendor management, and contract negotiation.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow (especially CMDB, HAM Pro, and catalog management).
- Analytical mindset with the ability to evaluate performance, cost, and lifecycle data.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Governance oriented approach with attention to compliance, documentation, and audit readiness.
- Ability to balance user experience, operational efficiency, and financial considerations.
- Prior experience in EUC, hardware portfolio management, IT Asset Management, or related operational roles.
- Demonstrated success managing hardware standards, vendor relationships, and lifecycle processes.
- Experience working in large enterprise or regulated environments (e.g., healthcare, finance, energy) is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow and hardware catalog governance processes.
