Job Description – Product Writer (Polaris) Tester

Role Summary

The Product Writer (Polaris) Tester is responsible for functional and end‑to‑end testing of insurance products configured on the Polaris Product Writer platform. The role ensures accuracy of rating logic, product rules, and policy lifecycle behaviour across integrated systems, with a strong focus on pricing validation, SIT, and UAT.


Key Responsibilities

Product Writer & Rating Testing

  • Perform functional testing of Polaris Product Writer configurations, including Skeleton Schemes, RTE, and XRTE modules to ensure correctness of product and rating logic.
  • Validate insurance pricing structures, rules, and product modelling across multiple product versions.

Test Planning & Execution

  • Create and execute test strategies and test plans covering unit/module, integration, system, SIT, E2E, and UAT phases.
  • Work closely with Test Program Managers and governance teams to build, review, and improve SIT approaches.

Policy Lifecycle & PAS Testing

  • Validate product behaviour across policy lifecycle events including New Business (NB), Mid‑Term Adjustments (MTA), Renewals, Cancellations, and Reinstatements.
  • Execute PAS‑integrated testing where Product Writer is connected to Policy Administration systems using tools such as SOAPUI / SWH setups. Price Validation & Data Setup
  • Perform price validation testing using WTW Radar Live rating engines to ensure pricing accuracy across complex workflows.
  • Prepare and manage test data and execution using Microsoft Power Apps and other supporting tools.

Aggregator & Journey Testing

  • Execute aggregator testing to validate end‑to‑end customer journeys and broker distribution scenarios.
  • Defect & Test Management
  • Log, track, and manage defects using JIRA, supporting defect triage and closure.
  • Provide test status, metrics, and risk visibility during SIT and UAT cycles.

Required Skills & Experience

Mandatory Skills

Strong hands‑on experience in Product Writer / Polaris testing.

Mandatory Skills: SOAP UI Testing .
