Job Description

The role of the Collibra Technical Lead at Wipro Technologies is pivotal in enabling organizations to harness the full potential of their data assets through effective data governance and management. This position acts as a crucial liaison between functional business teams and technical stakeholders, ensuring that data governance policies are accurately reflected in system configurations and workflows.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for configuring the Collibra Data Intelligence Platform to meet clients' evolving requirements, enhancing the platform's capabilities by developing custom workflows and automations, and offering expert troubleshooting to resolve initial system issues. This role demands not only a deep technical understanding of the Collibra suite, but also the ability to translate business needs into actionable technical specifications.

In this capacity, the Technical Lead will oversee the deployment of metadata management, data lineage, and quality monitoring processes, ensuring that data governance frameworks are robust, scalable, and aligned with industry standards. Collaboration with multiple teams, including data architects, analysts, and compliance officers, will be vital to successfully drive data governance initiatives that improve data quality, compliance, and ownership.

This position offers an exciting opportunity to join Wipro’s TS - DATA ANALYTICS & AI division within the Information Management practice, contributing to transformative projects across various sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the configuration and management of Collibra communities, domains, roles, and responsibilities to establish a well-structured governance framework.
  • Design, develop, and implement custom workflows using Collibra Workflow Designer (BPMN and Groovy), enabling automation of routine governance tasks and approvals.
  • Utilize Harvester and Collibra APIs to capture and maintain both technical and business data lineage, providing clear traceability across data ecosystems.
  • Integrate business glossaries with physical metadata to bridge the gap between business terminology and data assets, fostering a unified understanding across teams.
  • Establish, define, and monitor data quality rules within Collibra to proactively manage data integrity and accuracy.
  • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders and IT teams to onboard new data sources, aligning them with governance policies and ensuring compliance.
  • Develop and maintain integration points between Collibra and external systems using REST APIs and automation tools for seamless metadata ingestion and asset management.
  • Champion stewardship and ensure structured approval processes for data assets, terms, and policies, supporting organizational compliance and accountability.

͏

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience with the Collibra Data Intelligence platform, including configuration, customization, and implementation beyond documentation.
  • Strong expertise in data governance concepts, encompassing data ownership, metadata management, and quality assurance.
  • Proficiency with Collibra Lineage Harvester and automation scripting languages such as Groovy, with the ability to build and troubleshoot workflows.
  • Experience in working with Collibra REST APIs for metadata ingestion, asset updates, and integration with external data sources.
  • Demonstrated skills in mapping complex business glossaries to physical data assets, ensuring semantic accuracy and consistency.
  • Familiarity with data quality management tools (e.g., Informatica IDQ, Great Expectations) is advantageous.
  • Excellent client-centric approach combined with a passion for results and collaborative working style.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, decision-making skills, and learning agility to quickly adapt to evolving technologies and business needs.
  • Effective communication skills to engage with both business users and IT technical teams, ensuring clear and concise knowledge transfer.

͏

Preferred Skills and Additional Qualifications

  • Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders clearly and effectively.
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as BCBS 239 and GDPR, enabling adherence to compliance requirements within data governance initiatives.
  • Experience with cloud platforms and modern data architectures, supporting deployments in hybrid or cloud-native environments.
  • Background in data governance best practices and frameworks that support enterprise-wide data management strategies.
