Enterprise Architect (Contract)

Location: Flexible (preferred overlap with US time zone)
Role Summary: Responsible for designing a scalable, secure, and extensible hybrid architecture as ServiceNow is introduced into Google’s distributed 1P infrastructure. This role will ensure that ServiceNow integrates effectively with systems like SAP and other internal 1P platforms, while enabling AI-first orchestration and modular adoption.
Key Responsibilities:
● Design hybrid 1P/3P architecture (SN CMDB + SAP ITAM + Internal IT Service Portal (ITSP))
● Establish architectural guardrails for integration, extensibility, and governance
● CMDB design and integration strategy
● Data sync/ownership model between SAP and SN
● Ensure SN data structures support resolver, case mgmt and AI use cases
● Collaborate with internal EAs, security, CorpEng platform teams
● Define north-star architecture for SN-backed IT tooling
● Review and advise on SN module adoption roadmap
● Document all learnings / decisions. Conduct defined level of Knowledge Transfer back to a Googler on periodic basis
Required Experience:
● 10+ years in enterprise architecture roles
● Deep experience with ServiceNow platform, CMDB, ITSM
● Experience in large-scale, distributed infrastructure environments
● Knowledge of SAP integration and ITAM / ITOM design patterns
● Familiarity with knowledge graphs, AI orchestration, or API-first data layers
