Key Responsibilities
Routing & Switching (Core Expertise)
· Act as L3/SME escalation for complex LAN/WAN issues across DC, and branch networks
· Design validation, optimization, and troubleshooting of:
o Routing protocols: BGP, OSPF, EIGRP
o Switching technologies: VLANs, STP (RSTP/MST/PVST), EtherChannel
o High availability: HSRP / VRRP / GLBP
· Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring or high‑impact incidents
· Lead network performance tuning, convergence optimization, and resiliency improvements
· Review and approve network changes as part of CAB / Change Management
Operations & Governance
· Define and enforce network standards, best practices, and SOPs
· Support capacity planning, lifecycle management, and upgrade strategies
· Coordinate with OEMs / ISPs / cloud providers for escalations and defect resolution
· Provide technical guidance and mentoring to L1/L2 engineers
· Contribute to network documentation, HLD/LLD validation, and audit readiness
· Participate in major incident management (MIM) and post‑incident reviews
Required Technical Skills
Mandatory
· Strong hands‑on experience in Enterprise Routing & Switching
· Advanced knowledge of BGP, OSPF, route redistribution, summarization
· Proven experience with SD‑WAN solutions (Versa / Silver Peak / Viptela)
· LAN technologies: Cisco Catalyst (2960/3650/3750/9300/4500 series or equivalent)
· Network troubleshooting using CLI, packet analysis, and monitoring tools
· Change, Incident, and Problem Management in ITIL‑aligned environments
Good to Have
· Data center networking concepts
· Cloud networking exposure (AWS / Azure VPC/VNet, TGW, VPN)
· Network security fundamentals (ACLs, IPSec, firewalls)
· Monitoring tools: SolarWinds, OpsRamp, FortiAnalyzer, SNMP‑based platforms
Soft Skills & Behavioral Expectations
· Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
· Ability to explain complex technical issues to non‑technical stakeholders
· High ownership during outages and critical escalations
· Excellent documentation and communication skills

Educational Qualifications
· B.E. / B.Tech / M.Tech in Computer Science, Electronics, or equivalent
· Relevant certifications (preferred):
· CCNP / CCIE (Routing & Switching or Enterprise)
· SD‑WAN vendor certifications (Aruba, Cisco, Versa)

Do
- Provide adequate support in architecture planning, migration & installation for new projects in own tower (platform/dbase/ middleware/ backup)
- Lead the structural/ architectural design of a platform/ middleware/ database/ back up etc. according to various system requirements to ensure a highly scalable and extensible solution
- Conduct technology capacity planning by reviewing the current and future requirements
- Utilize and leverage the new features of all underlying technologies to ensure smooth functioning of the installed databases and applications/ platforms, as applicable
- Strategize & implement disaster recovery plans and create and implement backup and recovery plans
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the tower
- Manage day-to-day operations by troubleshooting any issues, conducting root cause analysis (RCA) and developing fixes to avoid similar issues.
- Plan for and manage upgradations, migration, maintenance, backup, installation and configuration functions for own tower
- Review the technical performance of own tower and deploy ways to improve efficiency, fine tune performance and reduce performance challenges
- Develop shift roster for the team to ensure no disruption in the tower
- Create and update SOPs, Data Responsibility Matrices, operations manuals, daily test plans, data architecture guidance etc.
- Provide weekly status reports to the client leadership team, internal stakeholders on database activities w.r.t. progress, updates, status, and next steps
- Leverage technology to develop Service Improvement Plan (SIP) through automation and other initiatives for higher efficiency and effectiveness
