Roles and Responsibilities of Unix Tower SME   would include
? As a Subject Matter Expert (SME) Linux Administrator, you will be responsible for overseeing the configuration, maintenance, and optimization of Linux-based systems
? Individual Contributor to resolve complex issues . 
? Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement performance tuning measures.
? Implement and enforce security policies and procedures to protect Linux environments.
? Conduct root cause analysis and provide solutions for complex system problems.
? Monitor and address potential security vulnerabilities and threats.
? Develop and maintain automation scripts for system administration tasks using tools such as Bash, Python or perl .
? Implement configuration management solutions like Ansible and  Puppet.
? Be part of Disaster Recovery procedures.
? Drive Service Improvement Programs. Ensure adherence to quality / security standards defined for the engagement 
? Perform Trend analysis, identify top few incidents and work with respective teams/individual to minimize the incidents. Effort estimation/reviews on need basis for new projects.
? Mentoring and guiding Team members . 
Mandatory Skillset
? Installation and configuration of Red hat/Ubuntu/Centos linux servers .
? Maintenance and troubleshooting of Solaris/Linux/Ubuntu/Centos servers .
? Patching of Linux  servers and Vulnerability Remediation.
? Maintenance of Servers on AWS/VMWare Cloud .
? Knowledge on VMWare , LDAP Authentication, Samba 
? Knowledge of VCS, VXVM  .
? Knowledge of Ansible Puppet .
? Knowledge on one scripting language python, perl or Shell.
