Job Description: 

Netapp Storage (Isilon) L3 Engineer

 

Key skillset:

  • Primary Skill: Isilon L3
  • Secondary Skill: NetApp L3
  • Good to have Skills:
  • EMC VMAX Storage-L3
  • EMC VNX/Unity Series Storage-L3
  • IBM Flash Storage
  • Pure Flash array/Flash Blade
  • Brocade/Cisco SAN Switches-L3

 Key Requirements:

  • Should have good understanding of infrastructure management processes; good understanding of ITIL process framework.
  • Provides 3rd level technical support on NAS & SAN Storage related issues.
  • Installation and configuring the NetApp Clusters
  • Creation of Aggregates, volumes and mapping of LUNs to Windows & UNIX hosts
  • Creating the SVM’s, segregating the SVM’s between NAS and SAN storage
  • Choose the right RAID level for high performance and high availability on NetApp Filers.
  • Setting up CIFS Shares, NFS Mounts, Quotas, Groups and Permissions on NetApp NAS.
  • Configuring and troubleshooting issues with Storage arrays (EMC ISILON/VMAX AFA/VNX/Unity AFA/Pure AFA/ECS/Celerra/Centera and SAN switches in SAN environment)
  • VNX/VMAX/Pure software / hardware maintenance and firmware upgrades
  • Isilon Snapshot IQ/SyncIQ setup and configuration
  • Isilon NFS Creation  / Quota Creation /SMB Shares Creation

Good to know skills:

  • Automation & Scripting(Shell/Perl/Python)
  • Windows/ESX/Unix administration
