Role - Location Security Manager

Job location: Hyderabad


Job Overview:
The Location Security Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of physical security, risk management, and business protection across assigned locations. The role is accountable for identifying, assessing, and mitigating security risks and vulnerabilities through the effective deployment of personnel, technology and processes in alignment with the organization's Security Policies, Global best practices, and Security standards.

 

The incumbent will be responsible for the judicious deployment of resources; planning and overseeing supervision by security and supervisory staff at the site; and responding to all emergencies and untoward incidents reported or identified at the premises or in the surrounding vicinity that may potentially affect business operations.

 

The Location Security Manager will serve as the strategic head of the unit, providing overall leadership and direction for the location and assuming overall responsibility for the unit’s performance.

 

Key Responsibilities:͏

Security Risk Management & Compliance

  • Conduct comprehensive Security Risk Assessments (SRA) and Vulnerability Assessments for existing and proposed facilities.
  • Evaluate and support security policy exception requests, ensuring associated risks are adequately assessed and mitigated.
  • Act as the Department Compliance Officer, ensuring adherence to corporate security policies, regulatory requirements, and compliance frameworks.
  • Provide audit assurance and support during internal, external, customer, and regulatory audits related to security operations.
  • Maintain awareness of regional security environments through continuous monitoring of internal and external intelligence sources.

Security Operations & Incident Management

  • Manage and continuously enhance security systems, including CCTV, access control systems, intrusion alarms, and monitoring platforms.
  • Ensure robust incident management processes, including timely reporting, investigation, escalation, response, and closure of security incidents.
  • Lead and coordinate responses to emergencies, security incidents, and other events that may impact business continuity.
  • Support security audits, investigations, threat assessments, and pre-alert activities to proactively mitigate risks.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of fire drills, evacuation exercises, and mock emergency response drills.

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of Security Managers, Specialists, supervisors, and security personnel.
  • Drive performance management, professional development, appraisals, and objective setting for security teams.
  • Provide 24x7 escalation support and strategic guidance to intelligence and operational security functions.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, operational excellence, continuous improvement, and customer-centric service delivery.

Crisis Management & Business Resilience

  • Participate in the planning, testing, and execution of crisis management and business continuity programs.
  • Lead and actively contribute to crisis management tabletop exercises and scenario-based response planning.
  • Ensure leadership teams and business stakeholders understand security advisories and receive guidance on mitigation measures.
  • Support operational planning and incident response activities in accordance with agreed SLAs, SOPs, and organizational priorities.

Security Technology & Project Management

  • Support the planning, implementation, testing, and commissioning of security technologies and infrastructure projects.
  • Act as the security focal point for CAPEX and OPEX initiatives, ensuring security requirements are incorporated into project design and execution.
  • Promote the adoption of emerging technologies, AI-driven solutions, and innovative security practices to enhance operational effectiveness.

Financial Management & Cost Optimization

  • Manage departmental budgets, including forecasting and monitoring Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) and Operational Expenditure (OPEX).
  • Drive cost optimization and resource rationalization initiatives while maintaining operational effectiveness and service quality.
  • Ensure optimal utilization and deployment of security resources across the location.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with law enforcement agencies, fire services, emergency responders, and local security forums.
  • Lead security facility tours for customers, prospects, and auditors, while addressing complex audit and compliance requirements.
  • Manage relationships with security vendors and service providers, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, policies, and standards.
  • Evaluate vendor performance and provide recommendations for vendor selection, contract renewals, and service improvements.
  • Ensure security personnel and vendor staff undergo background verification, screening, and maintain compliance with statutory requirements, including PSARA regulations.

Training & Awareness

  • Promote security awareness and preparedness across the organization through regular training, drills, and engagement initiatives.
