Position	Technical Lead L1 - SAP RAR Consultant

Role Overview

This role is crafted for an experienced SAP Revenue Accounting and Reporting (RAR) professional with over three years of specialized expertise. The successful candidate will lead design and configuration efforts, supporting the integration of SAP RAR with Financial Accounting (FI), Sales and Distribution (SD), and Billing and Revenue Innovation Management (BRIM) systems. The role demands hands-on experience in managing two full life cycle SAP RAR implementations and migration projects, providing insightful guidance through complex revenue recognition and accounting processes in compliance with IFRS 16 and COPA standards.

This position requires a deep understanding of the order-to-cash process and seamless integration with SD and FI/CO modules. Expertise in BRF+ decision management is highly advantageous. It also involves solution architecture responsibilities to ensure compliance with industry best practices and alignment with corporate financial regulations.

Ideal candidates will demonstrate strong leadership capabilities through cross-functional project coordination, excellent verbal and written communication, ability to develop and present to business stakeholders, and the capacity to develop management level proposals and presentations. Experience in the high technology or software industry will be valued, along with familiarity with S/4 HANA environments. A bachelor's degree in finance, CPA certification, or an equivalent credential is preferred.

SAP Revenue Accounting and Reporting (RAR) Consultant

Detailed Profile

The SAP RAR Consultant is a specialist responsible for the design and configuration of SAP RAR solutions, ensuring robust integration with FI, SD, and BRIM modules. The consultant will spearhead efforts on multiple full implementation lifecycles, including complex data migrations and testing phases. Applicants should bring a comprehensive understanding of SAP’s order-to-cash process and key accounting principles related to revenue recognition under IFRS 16.

Experience in customizing revenue accounting processes and applying BRF+ rules is highly valued. The consultant acts as a key contributor within cross-functional teams, collaborating closely with business analysts, developers, and finance experts to deliver solutions aligned with stakeholder expectations and regulatory requirements.

Solution Design Responsibilities

Lead the design and development of technical and functional solutions for SAP RAR modules, ensuring alignment with project goals and business requirements. Collaborate with project managers and business teams to gather detailed requirements, creating structured solution architectures. Identify integration points with FI, SD, and BRIM modules and design interfaces consistent with SAP best practices, focusing on scalability and maintainability. Prepare technical design documents and participate in design review sessions to maintain high standards of solution quality across the program.

Coding and Configuration Duties

Review and validate developed code to ensure compliance with SAP standards and project objectives. Provide technical mentorship and guidance to team members, addressing queries to maintain consistency in development efforts. Collaborate with project leads in all phases of the software development lifecycle, from initial configuration through to deployment. Maintain coding best practices and create reusable solution components to enhance team efficiency. Conduct peer reviews to uphold code quality and resolve technical issues promptly to minimize project risks.

Testing and Validation	Coordinate and execute rigorous testing protocols for SAP RAR modules, including Unit Testing, Integration Testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT). Lead root-cause analysis for technical defects and implement corrective scripts or configuration adjustments. Continuously monitor software performance and conduct trial runs to verify functionality and compliance with financial regulations.
Implementation Support	Partner with cross-functional technical and business teams to validate system configurations prior to go-live. Manage deployment activities, ensuring seamless integration into live environments with minimal disruption. Develop comprehensive training materials and conduct sessions to enable smooth transition and adoption of SAP RAR applications by end-users.
Documentation and Reporting	Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation including technical specifications, process flowcharts, and configuration guides. Prepare detailed project status reports, resource utilization logs, and milestone updates for project governance. Support compliance audits by providing accurate records aligned with organizational policies.
Stakeholder Engagement	Collaborate with client representatives, project managers, and internal teams to gather requirements and ensure shared understanding of technical deliverables. Facilitate feedback loops to enhance solution refinement and address evolving business needs.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement	Drive adoption of innovative testing methodologies and automation tools to improve code quality and reduce defect rates. Champion continuous learning initiatives to keep up-to-date with SAP advancements and emerging industry standards, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation within the team.
