In this Splunk Architecture Consultant role, you will be part of Splunk implementation and support team. You will be changing the way Optum uses Operational data by leveraging Splunk’s capabilities. You will also be responsible for the development, communication, implementation and support of a multi tera bytes per day Splunk setup.

Primary responsibilities:
· Assist in designing multi-site Splunk cluster that can handle Around 400 tera bytes per day ingestion volume across all clusters
· Data pipeline integration with Kafka, Splunk and deployed on Kubernetes.
· Work with Application teams (the users of Splunk) to resolve any usability issues reported
· Develop monitoring for ensuring Splunk infrastructure health (Disk usage, CPU/Memory usage, Performance)
· Ensure Splunk infrastructure is up and running and performing with maximum efficiency 24X7
· Develop reports on Splunk usage share with team and upper management
· Install and maintain Splunk Universal forwarder on Application/Web/DB servers
· Perform upgrades and patch installs of Splunk infrastructure
· Identify opportunities for Application teams to add Splunk Knowledge Objects
· Work with Splunk Support to resolve any issues on time
· Thoroughly document any procedures to support Splunk Infrastructure
· Write Python scripts and develop AWS Lambda-based automation to streamline Splunk administration, integrations, and operational support activities
· Provide explanation and information to others on difficult issues
· Identify/quantify scope and impact of business changes on systems
· Maintain awareness of current technology assets, and the applicability and capability of each
Required Qualifications:
· 2 years’ hands-on experience in administering Splunk platform
· 2 years’ hands-on experience with automation tools preferably Kafka, Cribl, syslog.
· 2 years’ experience in using configuration management solutions such as Chef, Puppet or Ansible
· 4 years’ experience in a software development or software support role
· Minimum 2 years Administering Unix/Linux, Windows and/or Network
· Strong Python programming and shell scripting skills with the ability to build automation, integrations, and operational tooling
· Experience with Agile methodology
· Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
· Support experience in a large enterprise environment
· Hands-on experience with AWS core services such as EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, and EKS
· Hands-on experience developing AWS Lambda functions in Python and using Boto3 and REST APIs to automate AWS operations, support platform integrations, and streamline telemetry onboarding
· Experience deploying and supporting observability or logging platforms in AWS using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
· Working knowledge of AWS security, networking, and operational best practices for scalable cloud environments
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience in APM/Monitoring tools (New Relic, Dynatrace, DC RUM)
· Experience in supporting Application Servers (WebLogic, WebSphere, JBoss, Tomcat)
· Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access)
· Experience with Automation and SRE tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Gitlab, Github Actions.
· Health care industry experience
· AWS certification such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator, or DevOps Engineer
· Experience designing observability for serverless workloads, including AWS Lambda logging, metrics, tracing, and integration with Splunk or CloudWatch
· Familiarity with AWS Well-Architected principles for reliability, security, performance efficiency, and cost optimization
