Role Purpose
The Asset Engineer is responsible for day‑to‑day IT hardware asset operations at assigned location(s), ensuring accurate inventory, process compliance, and timely service delivery. The role supports asset lifecycle execution while adhering to HAM policies, audit standards, and SLAs.
Key Responsibilities
Asset Operations
- Execute end‑to‑end asset activities: receipt, tagging, storage, issuance, movement, recovery, and disposal support.
- Ensure accurate and timely updates in asset management systems (ServiceNow / FAR or equivalent).
- Support asset deployment, refresh, and release activities as per approved requests (RITMs).
Inventory & Store Support
- Maintain asset stores, bin management, and physical controls.
- Participate in Physical Verification (PV) and support variance closure with proper documentation.
- Ensure alignment between physical assets and system records.
Compliance & Audit Support
- Follow HAM SOPs, security guidelines, and internal controls.
- Support audit activities by providing evidence, reports, and system records.
- Report any non‑compliance, discrepancies, or asset risks to the Location Lead.
Ticketing & SLA Management
- Handle asset‑related tickets within defined SLAs.
- Coordinate with users, vendors, and internal teams for issue resolution.
- Ensure proper closure of incidents, requests, and change activities.
Coordination & Communication
- Work closely with Location Lead, Central HAM teams, vendors, and security teams.
- Maintain clear communication and timely updates on operational activities.
Qualifications
- Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in IT Asset Management, Desktop Support, or IT Operations.
- Hands‑on experience with asset tools (ServiceNow HAM preferred).
Key Skills & Competencies
- Good understanding of IT hardware asset lifecycle.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation discipline.
- Working knowledge of inventory controls and audit requirements.
- Ability to work under SLAs in a process‑driven environment.
- Basic vendor and stakeholder coordination skills.
Reporting & Interfaces
- Reports to: Location Lead / HAM Operations
- Interfaces with: Central HAM teams, Service Desk, Vendors, Security
