Role Overview
We are looking for a Senior Automation Test Engineer with strong hands‑on expertise in Selenium WebDriver with Java and BDD frameworks to deliver high‑quality automated and functional testing solutions in an Agile environment.


Key Responsibilities
Test Automation & Framework Development

Design, develop, and maintain robust test automation frameworks using Selenium WebDriver with Java.
Implement BDD‑based automation using Cucumber with JUnit/TestNG, aligned with project standards.
Apply automation design patterns such as Page Object Model (POM) and Data‑Driven Frameworks.
Execute automated test suites across different test phases, ensuring high coverage and reliability.

Functional & Manual Testing

Perform comprehensive functional testing to validate system accuracy, suitability, and business requirements.
Participate in various testing BAU types including system testing, integration testing, regression testing, and UAT support.
Create and execute manual test cases where automation is not feasible.

Test Strategy & Planning

Define and implement test strategies, test plans, and test approaches for both manual and automated testing.
Ensure test activities align with project timelines, quality standards, and regulatory requirements if applicable.

CI/CD & DevOps Integration

Integrate test automation frameworks into CI/CD pipelines using GitLab.
Build and maintain custom automation utilities to enhance test execution and reporting.
Collaborate with DevOps teams to ensure seamless test execution within enterprise engineering platforms.

API & Database Testing

Perform API testing using Postman to validate backend services and integrations.
Conduct database testing using SQL (Oracle and other relational databases as per project setup).
Validate data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across applications.

Defect Analysis & Troubleshooting

Perform detailed root cause analysis of defects using application logs, database queries, and file system analysis.
Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to troubleshoot issues and ensure timely resolution.

Agile Collaboration

Actively participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
Work closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure quality is built into every stage of the SDLC.

Must‑Have Skills

  • Selenium WebDriver with Java (Mandatory)
  • Strong experience in Functional Testing and testing lifecycle phases
  • BDD Frameworks: Cucumber with JUnit/TestNG
  • Automation Frameworks: Page Object Model, Data‑Driven Frameworks
  • Build Tools: Maven or Gradle (as per project setup)
  • API Testing: Postman
  • CI/CD Pipelines: GitLab integration and build automation
  • Database Testing: SQL, Oracle
  • Supporting skills in Core Java, JUnit, and SQL


Good‑to‑Have Skills

  • Exposure to performance testing tools such as JMeter
  • Understanding of cloud platforms and DevOps pipelines
  • Experience with regulatory compliance environments
  • Strong knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies


Soft Skills & Competencies

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills
  • Ability to work independently and mentor junior team members
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality
