Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated external Change Consultant to manage the process of organizational and technical changes within our projects. The ideal candidate will ensure that all changes are documented, reviewed, approved, and implemented in a controlled and efficient manner, minimizing risk and disruption to business operations. This is a contract role, reporting to the Change Consultant/Project Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Change Governance and Process Management

  • Coordinate all aspects of the Change Management process, including logging, prioritization, assessment, scheduling, approval, and closure of Change Requests (CRs). 
  • Facilitate regular Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings, preparing agendas, distributing change documentation in advance, and recording minutes and action items. 
  • Ensure adherence to established Change Management policies, processes, and standards across all impacted teams. 
  • Maintain the definitive Change Schedule and communicate upcoming changes to stakeholders.

Documentation and Compliance

  • Review Change Requests for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to quality standards before presentation to the CAB. 
  • Ensure all necessary technical and business impact assessments are performed and documented. 
  • Maintain accurate records of all changes, approvals, back-out plans, and post-implementation reviews (PIRs). 
  • Monitor and report on change success rates and non-compliance issues.

 

Communication and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as the primary point of contact for all change-related inquiries.
  • Proactively communicate change timelines, potential risks, and impacts to relevant technical teams, business owners, and end-users.
  • Collaborate with Release Management, Incident Management, and Project Management teams to ensure smooth transition of changes.

 

Essential Requirements Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience working in an IT or Organizational Change Management role, specifically as a Change Coordinator or Analyst. 
  • Proven experience facilitating Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings with diverse technical and business stakeholders.
  • Demonstrable experience working with formal Change Management processes based on ITIL or similar frameworks.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Solid understanding of ITIL V3/V4 framework, specifically the Change Management process. ITIL Foundation Certification (V3 or V4) is highly desirable. 
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent changes under tight deadlines. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex change information clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences. 
  • Proficiency in using Change Management/Service Management tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira Service Desk, BMC Remedy).
  • High level of attention to detail and a commitment to process compliance. 
  • Stay abreast of emerging AI trends in Service Management to continuously modernize the Change Management framework.
