Citrix XenApp L3 – Job Description
Position Overview
The Citrix XenApp L3 Engineer is responsible for providing advanced support, design, and optimization of Citrix environments. This role involves handling complex incidents, leading root cause analysis, and ensuring high availability of Citrix services across enterprise infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide L3 support for Citrix XenApp environment
- Strong knowledge on Citrix DDC, StoreFront, PVS and Licensing server handling
- Good knowledge on NetScaler/ADC, SQL databases, Networking.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues escalated from L1/L2 teams.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement permanent fixes.
- Manage Citrix policies, profiles, Certificates installation and GPOs for user environments.
- Good Knowledge on Citrix Provisioning Services (PVS)
- Ensure backup, recovery, and disaster recovery readiness for Citrix components.
- Knowledge on PowerShell
- Collaborate with network, storage, and security teams to resolve cross-platform issues.
- Document technical solutions, SOPs, and best practices.
- Participate in capacity planning, performance tuning, and upgrades.
- Mentor and guide L1/L2 support engineers.
Required Skills:
- Strong expertise in Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop (7.x and above).
- Hands-on experience with Citrix Studio, Director, StoreFront, NetScaler/ADC.
- Deep knowledge of Windows Server OS, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policies.
- Experience with Citrix Profile Management and user environment management tools.
- Familiarity with SQL database administration for Citrix DDC.
- Knowledge of hypervisors (VMware/Hyper-V) and cloud integration (Citrix Cloud, Azure).
- Strong troubleshooting skills using Citrix Director, NetScaler logs, and Windows Event Viewer.
- Understanding of backup solutions, monitoring tools, and security compliance.

- Leadership qualities to mentor junior engineers and coordinate with stakeholders.
