The purpose of this role is to provide significant technical expertise in architecture planning and design of the concerned tower (platform, database, middleware, backup etc) as well as managing its day-to-day operations

Required skilled Windows and VMware System Administrator to manage and support our IT infrastructure, including Windows servers, VMware virtualization, and Active Directory (AD).

This role is critical in maintaining secure, reliable, and high-performing systems that support business operations and will possess extensive experience in Windows Server administration, VMware virtualization, and Active Directory management, with a focus on security, optimization, and efficient resource utilization.

Roles and Responsibilities:

 

  • Install, configure, and maintain Windows servers, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Apply patches, updates, and security fixes to Windows OS using SCCM.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot server performance and availability issues.
  • Configure security policies, including group policies, firewall settings, and anti-malware solutions.
  • Ensure Windows servers meet compliance standards CIS best practices.
  • Deploy, configure, and manage VMware vSphere environments, including ESXi hosts and vCenter.
  • Create, configure, and manage virtual machines (VMs) and templates.
  • Monitor the health and performance of the VMware environment and VMs.
  • Tune VMs and VMware settings for optimal performance and resource utilization.
  • Configure VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM) or other tools if used for disaster recovery and experience in performing DR using SRM.
  • Monitor and forecast resource usage to plan for expansion.
  • Use VMware tools like VMWare Aria Operations to monitor capacity and health.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and virtual network/storage issues in VMware environments.
  • Support and troubleshoot issues related to VM migrations, snapshots, and backups.
  • Create, configure, and manage domains, trusts, and forests as needed.
  • Implement and manage sites and replication to optimize AD performance.
  • Manage user accounts, group memberships, and permissions and maintain the best practices.
  • Enforce least-privilege access and manage permissions through group policy objects (GPOs).
  • Configure and maintain Group Policies for user and computer settings across the domain.
  • Implement GPOs for security settings, application restrictions, and user experience.
  • Maintain a backup and recovery plan for AD, including testing restore scenarios.
  • Use PowerShell, vSphere CLI, or other tools to automate routine tasks in Windows, VMware, and AD environments.
  • Maintain documentation of configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Prepare capacity and utilization reports for management.
  • Provide level 2/level-3 support for escalated issues related to Windows, VMware, and AD.
  • Educate and assist other team members on best practices.
  • Experience in Azure cloud platform management.
