MYSQL DBA

MySQL Database Administrator (Production Support)

Experience: 5+ Years of Relevant MySQL DBA / Production Support Experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform MySQL database health checks and proactive monitoring of production environments.
  • Monitor alerts, investigate incidents, and provide timely resolution within agreed SLAs.
  • Troubleshoot database availability, connectivity, replication, storage, and performance issues.
  • Manage MySQL services, including start/stop, restart, failover support, and routine maintenance activities.
  • Administer database users, roles, privileges, and access requests in compliance with security policies.
  • Monitor database growth, disk utilization, capacity trends, replication status, and backup health.
  • Execute and validate backup, restore, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Perform performance tuning through query optimization, indexing recommendations, and configuration analysis.
  • Support standard service requests, approved changes, patching activities, and BAU operations.
  • Coordinate with application, infrastructure, and support teams to resolve production issues.
  • Escalate complex incidents to L3 or engineering teams with appropriate diagnostics and RCA details.
  • Maintain operational documentation, SOPs, runbooks, shift handover notes, and audit records.
  • Adhere to ITSM, change management, security, compliance, and governance processes.

Mandatory Skills

  • 5+ years of MySQL Database Administration experience.
  • Strong experience in MySQL 5.7/8.0 administration and production support.
  • Experience with MySQL monitoring, health checks, alert management, and incident handling.
  • Hands-on experience with replication technologies (Master-Slave/Master-Master).
  • Strong knowledge of backup, restore, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Experience managing database users, roles, privileges, and access controls.
  • Working knowledge of Linux/Unix administration and shell commands.
  • Experience with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, or similar ticketing systems.
  • Exposure to change management, problem management, and release processes.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience supporting large-scale enterprise production environments.
  • Knowledge of MariaDB and High Availability solutions.
  • Performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing expertise.
  • Shell scripting and automation experience.
  • Exposure to cloud database environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Experience in 24x7 support and shift-based operations.

Experience

  • 5+ years of relevant MySQL DBA / Production Support experience.
Mandatory Skills: MYSQL Database Admin .

 

Experience: 1-3 Years .
