  • Ensure APIs conform to enterprise security, data protection, and compliance standards.
  • Collaborate with platform and security teams to support API lifecycle management and governance.

Operations & Support

  • Troubleshoot and resolve API integration, performance, and connectivity issues.
  • Monitor API usage and performance using z/OS Connect logs and enterprise monitoring tools.
  • Support deployment automation and CI/CD pipelines for z/OS Connect and related components.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with cloud, distributed systems, and application teams to design end-to-end solutions.
  • Participate in architecture reviews, code reviews, and design discussions.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and integration runbooks.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in IBM z/OS application development  (multiple client engagements).
  • Hands-on experience with z/OS Connect Enterprise Edition.
  • Proven experience with:
    • Inbound APIs: Cloud → z/OS Connect → CICS and/or IMS
    • Outbound APIs: CICS → Cloud-based REST APIs
  • Strong knowledge of CICS TS and/or IMS TM environments.
  • Experience working with COBOL (or PL/I) backend programs.
  • Solid understanding of RESTful API design, HTTP methods, JSON, and OpenAPI.
