Job Description: 

Palo Alto Networks - Firewalls

  • Palo Alto Certified – PCNSE
  • Implementation and migration experience from non-Palo (Cisco or Checkpoint) to Palo Alto FW
  • Deep hands-on knowledge of Palo Alto FW & Expedition tool (used for Migration)
  • Must have strong understanding of dynamic routing (BGP) and configuration on Palo Alto FW
  • Experienced working in large/complex environments with multivendor firewall.
  • Has a minimum of 6-8 Years of experience in designing and implementing Palo Alto Firewalls.
  • Experienced in performing large scale firewall migrations from legacy vendor products to Palo Alto NGFW platforms.
  • Has solid understanding and working experience in designing and implementing Virtual Routers and BGP on firewalls.
  • Effective communication with business and technical stakeholders
  • Act as the point of contact for all project issue/problem resolution and mitigate any potential conflicts within various tech stakeholders.
    • Conduct workshops with stream leads for both network (corporate) and security (firewalls) to assess current implementation progress.
    • Review existing documentation and deployments for:
      • Cisco Multisite EVPN VXLAN
      • Cisco ASA and Palo Alto Networks firewalls
    • Define integration requirements and migration approach for each firewall pair, focusing on connectivity and high availability (excluding firewall build and policy migration).
    • Develop an integration design document covering:
      • Firewall integration with the new network
      • High availability, virtual systems, routing, VPC, physical connectivity
      • High-level migration strategy
    • Facilitate design reviews, updates, and approvals.
    • Develop and document a migration approach aligned with the integration design, existing documentation, and project schedule.
    • Include risk assessment, mitigation strategies, dependencies, change management, and key stakeholders in the migration documentation.
