Manage End to End Lab Activities for the End User Computing Devices & Software Labs
The IT LAB Lead oversees all day‑to‑day operations of the End User Computing (EUC) device laboratory, ensuring smooth functioning of testing, validation, device lifecycle processes, and lab governance. The role supports engineers, customers, and cross‑functional teams by maintaining a safe, efficient, and well‑managed lab environment.
Responsabilities
1. Lab Operations Management
- Manage end‑to‑end lab activities for end‑user computing devices, operating systems, and software.
- Oversee lab setup, access control, network provisioning, and device onboarding as part of customer transition and operational readiness.
- Ensure all lab equipment, peripherals, collaboration devices, and workstation tools are available and functional, including support for test units based on customer requirements.
- Coordinate routine maintenance, warranty & break‑fix operations, involving vendors and onsite support when required.
2. Device & Inventory Management
- Manage inventory of all EUC devices, including stock levels, test devices, consumables, and lab materials.
- Conduct weekly and quarterly cycle counts, asset audits, and maintain accurate documentation as per compliance guidelines.
- Track, tag, and maintain custody of devices, including golden images, prototypes, and customer-provided hardware.
3. Device Testing & Validation
- Coordinate and support testing of new device models, OS versions, patches, BIOS, firmware, and application compatibility.
- Facilitate customer‑driven validation for 250+ devices (based on Milan lab environment).
Work closely with engineering teams to ensure accurate test reporting and support issue reproduction.
4. Tooling & Platform Support
- Oversee tools used in EUC management (e.g., SCCM, Intune, MEM, Workspace ONE, Jamf, SOTI) within the Lab
- Support provisioning, configuration, and monitoring of lab devices using enterprise management platforms.
5. Safety, Compliance & Documentation
- Implement and enforce lab safety protocols, including hardware handling standards and biohazard/environmental handling where applicable (industry guidelines).
Maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), lab guidelines, and operational manuals. - Coordinate audits and ensure adherence to corporate policies and compliance frameworks (GLP, quality standards where applicable).
6. Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination
- Liaise with hardware vendors, procurement, logistics, and facility teams for equipment, repairs, and asset movement.
- Interact with customer teams to meet contract‑committed service levels and deliverables.
7. Personnel & Training Management
- Support onboarding and training of lab personnel, including technicians, trainees, and engineers.
Provide technical guidance, troubleshoot device issues, and ensure operational readiness during transition phases.
Candidate profile
Experience
- At least 5+ years in End User Computing managing IT hardware & Software labs, or device lifecycle operations.
- Experience in managing lab environments, hardware testing & Software testing & EUC operations.
Technical Skills
- Windows & macOS imaging, patching, lifecycle management
- Device management tools (SCCM, Intune, MEM, JAMF, SOTI)
Inventory & asset management systems - Troubleshooting hardware/software issues (L1–L2 level)
- Ability to define test Cases
- Document formal outcomes of testing identify gaps and provide resolution
People Skills:
- Experience in Managing remote Labs
- Mentorship & guidance to reportees managing labs remotely
