Job Title: System Engineer (Desktop Support Engineer)

Experience Required: 2–3 Years


Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Desktop Support Engineer with 2–3 years of hands-on experience in PC and laptop hardware servicing, software troubleshooting, and end-user support. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Windows OS, basic networking, and experience supporting a wide range of devices and applications in a corporate environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide desk-side support for desktops, laptops, smartphones, Apple devices, and MAC OS.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot desktop applications including MS Office, O365, Outlook, Skype, and other business-critical tools.
  • Perform PC break/fix, hardware upgrades, and OS installations using SCCM and manual methods.
  • Support end-user devices such as printers, scanners, docking stations, and monitors.
  • Conduct remote troubleshooting and guide users through step-by-step solutions.
  • Maintain accurate records of technical issues and resolutions in the IT service desk system.
  • Coordinate with various technical teams to resolve complex issues.
  • Provide L1 smart hands support for servers and network devices.
  • Perform daily health checks and support AV equipment in meeting rooms.
  • Track and manage IT assets, including installations, retirements, and inventory updates.
  • Ensure timely resolution of incidents and service requests while maintaining high customer satisfaction.
  • Assist in creating technical documentation and user manuals.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to appropriate support levels and follow up to ensure resolution.
  • Maintain professionalism and clear communication with clients, peers, and management.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 2–3 years of experience in desktop support or technical support roles.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows 7/10, SCCM, antivirus/anti-spyware tools.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, RDP.
  • Familiarity with server/storage environments and tape libraries is a plus.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and deductive reasoning skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with mobile device management and video conferencing support.
  • Proven ability to manage IT equipment lifecycle: deployment, refresh, retirement, and secure disposal.

Expected annual pay for this role ranges from $25,000 to $50,000 . Based on the position, the role is also eligible for Wipro’s standard benefits including a full range of medical and dental benefits options, disability insurance, paid time off (inclusive of sick leave), other paid and unpaid leave options.
