State/Province:  California
Posting Start Date:  4/20/26
Job Description:

About the Role

We are seeking an exceptionally driven, operationally minded Project Leader to own and scale end-to-end AI model training projects for leading AI labs. You are not just managing a checklist; you are the operational CEO of a $10M+ book of business.

You will bridge the gap between our high-profile clients and a massive distributed workforce. This requires a unique blend of client management, cross-functional leadership, relentless quality control, and the "gritty" operational mindset required to orchestrate 1,000+ contributors at lightning speed.

Core Responsibilities

Client Partnership & Business Growth

Strategic Point of Contact: Serve as the primary, trusted liaison for leading AI labs. Anticipate their technical and operational needs before they arise.

Drive Account Growth: Transform successful deliveries into expanded scopes of work. Partner with clients to identify new data needs, upselling our capabilities to drive business growth.

Transparent Communication: Deliver clear, consistent reporting, translating complex operational realities into actionable insights for the client.

Agile Execution & End-to-End Delivery

Pipeline Ownership: Design and manage data pipelines from initial customer specifications to final delivery.

Sprint Management: Run structured, high-velocity sprints to ensure timelines, throughput, and quality consistently exceed client expectations.

Rapid Scaling: Execute against extreme, time-sensitive pressures (e.g., onboarding 1,000 contributors in 3 days, delivering 10+ hours of quality data per contributor within a 48-hour window).

Talent Enablement & Workforce Coordination

Recruiting Partnership: Work lockstep with our Recruiting teams to define ideal contributor profiles, source the right domain experts, and clear hiring bottlenecks.

Enablement & Training: Build robust training modules, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and clear instruction sets to enable a massive remote workforce.

Large-Scale Management: Direct 1,000+ distributed contributors in Slack-based workspaces, implementing incentive systems and performance-managing talent at scale.

Quality Control (QC) & Operational Excellence

Hands-on QC: Roll up your sleeves and actively participate in Quality Control. Define the grading rubrics, audit the data, and calibrate the workforce.

"War Room" Leadership: Run daily internal syncs to diagnose bottlenecks, restructure workflows, and squash operational bugs in real-time.

Process Optimization: Continuously re-sequence workflows and scale review processes to improve data quality, increase throughput, and maximize cost-efficiency.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Internal Alignment: Partner closely with Product, Engineering, and internal Ops teams to build the tooling and infrastructure necessary to support your projects.

Feedback Loops: Channel frontline operational friction back to the product team to drive systemic platform improvements.

What We’re Looking For

Background & Trajectory: We index on raw capability, drive, and intellectual horsepower—not years on a resume. Whether you are a recent top-tier university graduate with a history of exceptional achievement, or a seasoned operator from management consulting, finance, or a hyper-growth startup, we want you if you have the proven ability to go above and beyond.

Execution Expertise: Demonstrated ability to run agile sprints, manage complex initiatives, and navigate fast-paced project lifecycles.

Customer-Facing Acumen: Deep comfort working directly with highly technical, high-profile enterprise clients. You know how to push back professionally and manage expectations.

Analytical Rigor: Strong ability to manipulate data, diagnose pipeline health, and make rapid, mathematically sound decisions.

The Right Mindset: You are deeply excited by “gritty” process optimization. You thrive in ambiguity, take extreme ownership, and do not consider any task "beneath" you.
