Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems Engineer
Key Responsibilities:
- Deploy, configure, and maintain Cisco Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS) across enterprise environmentsAnalyze network traffic patterns to detect anomalies and potential threats using
- Cisco IPS sensors and management toolsPerform initial setup, integration, and tuning of Cisco IPS sensors in alignment with customer security policiesApply and manage Cisco IPS security policies, including signature updates and response configuration
- Collaborate with SOC teams to investigate and respond to security incidents.Document configurations, procedures, and incident reports for audit and compliance purposes
- Participate in customer meetings and provide technical insights during security reviews.
- Strong understanding of intrusion detection/prevention concepts, traffic analysis, and evasion technique
- Experience with Cisco IPS software, hardware sensors, and Cisco Security Manager
- Familiarity with IPS signature tuning, policy configuration, and sensor integration.Ability to troubleshoot IPS-related issues and coordinate with cross-functional teams
- Experience with other security platforms (e.g., Palo Alto, Checkpoint) is a plus.
