Position: SQL DBA L3
Experience: 8+ Years
Location: Mumbai
Shift: 24x7 Support Environment (On-call Support Required)
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage, administer, and support Microsoft SQL Server databases in a production environment.
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions including Always On, Clustering, Log Shipping, Mirroring, and Replication.
• Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, and capacity planning.
• Manage database backup and recovery strategies (Full, Differential, and Transaction Log backups).
• Design and implement database maintenance activities and automation scripts.
• Monitor database health, troubleshoot issues, and ensure maximum uptime.
• Support database migrations, upgrades, and patching activities.
• Implement database automation using Ansible and other scripting tools.
• Provide L3 support in a 24x7 environment and participate in on-call rotations.
• Follow ITIL processes and support transition management activities.
Required Skills:
• 7+ years of hands-on experience as a SQL DBA.
• Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server versions 2008, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2019, and 2022.
• Strong knowledge of SQL fundamentals, query optimization, and database tuning.
• Experience with database objects including Indexes, Filegroups, Stored Procedures, Functions, and Memory Configuration.
• Expertise in High Availability technologies such as Clustering, Always On, Replication, Log Shipping, and Mirroring.
• Experience with backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Knowledge of DTS, BCP, and data migration tools across heterogeneous databases.
• Strong understanding of Windows OS, Active Directory, Networking, NTFS file systems, and storage concepts.
• Experience in database design, capacity planning, and storage recommendations.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS.
• Experience in SQL database automation using Ansible.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
• Team handling or team leadership experience.
• Experience working in enterprise-scale 24x7 support environments.
• Exposure to ITIL processes and service management frameworks.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage critical incidents effectively.
