Job Description

Role:

We are seeking a skilled and innovative Mechanical Designer with a solid background in Research and Development (R&D) to assist our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design, testing, and refinement of mechanical components and systems, bringing innovative concepts to life. This role requires strong analytical abilities, creative problem-solving skills, and a passion for advancing mechanical design through research-driven insights.

- Design and Development: Proven ability to develop and design mechanical components, systems and technical specification. Familiarity with the Stage Gate process for product development, ensuring design projects move smoothly through critical phases from concept to completion, adhering to timelines and quality standards

- 3D Modelling and CAD:Ã Proficiency in SolidWorks, including part modeling, assembly, and drafting. Experience with  using Solid works PDM Works systems to ensure traceability and version control. Experience in generating BOMs and working with engineering change orders (ECOs). Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and its application. 

- Design Analysis Skills: Hands-on experience with FEA software tools and other engineering analysis platforms to evaluate structural, thermal, and fatigue aspects of designs. Knowledge of welding standards (e.g., AWS, ISO) and their integration into design and drafting processes

- Effective Communication Skills: Fluent in both written and spoken English, with the ability to clearly articulate design concepts, technical specifications, and project updates to cross-functional teams, including engineers, product managers, and stakeholders, ensuring alignment and collaborative problem-solving.

Experience :  

• 5 or more years of hands‑on experience in BIM QA/QC delivery for industrial plants and large building facilities
• Proven experience working in on‑site project environments, preferably in manufacturing or factory plants

Domain Knowledge (Mandatory)

• Strong understanding of manufacturing / factory plant facilities, including:
• Production equipment and machinery layouts.
• Utilities (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection)
• Pipe racks, service corridors, and equipment clearances
• Plant rooms and technical spaces
• knowledge of Point Cloud data generated from 3D laser scanning and its application in as‑built / brownfield projects/or equivalent.

Good to have: 

• Exposure to Scan‑to‑BIM workflows for industrial plants
• Experience with brownfield and as‑built modeling using 3D laser scanning for data capture
• Familiarity with site survey data, control points, and plant coordinate systems

Technical Skills:

• Expert mastery of Autodesk Revit (2023-2025), AutoCAD (2023-2025) and Autodesk ReCap.
• Deep understanding of Shared Coordinates, Survey Points, and Project Base Points.
• Ability to troubleshoot Dynamo scripts and Revit Add-ins.

Project Setup

Manage the conversion of E57 point clouds to RCP using Autodesk ReCap. Create the central Revit file using the standard template.

Coordinate Management

• Execute the critical "Procedure for positioning" defined in the scope. Link the Plant Overview (WNP), establish the Global Network Point (GNP), and ensure precise alignment of the Z-coordinate based on surveyor info.
• Oversee the installation and correct usage of the SAP-RE-FX Add-in and Dynamo scripts across the team.

Deliverable QA/QC: 

Validate the exported .IFC, .DWG, and .JSON files to ensure they meet the specific Model View Definitions (MVDs) and Layer mappings required by the client.
