About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Modeler to design and govern enterprise data models that support operational systems, analytics, reporting, and data warehousing initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling, along with a deep understanding of data architecture, governance, metadata management, and data quality practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models for enterprise applications and data platforms.
- Translate business requirements into scalable, efficient, and governed data structures.
- Develop dimensional models, including Star Schema and Snowflake Schema designs, for enterprise data warehouses.
- Conduct data analysis, source system assessment, and data profiling activities.
- Create and maintain source-to-target mappings, data dictionaries, business glossaries, and metadata repositories.
- Define and enforce enterprise data standards, naming conventions, and governance policies.
- Partner with Business Analysts, Data Architects, DBAs, Data Engineers, and ETL teams to deliver data solutions.
- Support Master Data Management (MDM), Reference Data Management, Data Lineage, and Data Quality initiatives.
- Review and optimize data structures for performance, scalability, consistency, and regulatory compliance.
Required Skills & Experience
- 10+ years of experience in Data Modeling, Data Architecture, or Data Warehousing.
- Strong hands-on experience in:
- Conceptual, Logical, and Physical Data Modeling
- Enterprise Data Architecture
- Data Warehousing and Dimensional Modeling
- Star Schema and Snowflake Schema Design
- Metadata Management
- Data Governance and Data Quality
- Master Data Management (MDM)
- Proficiency with data modeling tools such as:
- ERwin Data Modeler / Model Mart
- Oracle Designer or equivalent modeling tools
- Strong SQL skills and experience in data profiling and analysis.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise databases like:
- Oracle
- SQL Server
- Teradata
- DB2
- Snowflake
- Hadoop/Data Lake environments
- Understanding of ETL and data integration processes using tools such as Informatica, DataStage, SSIS, Talend, or similar platforms.
Experience: 8-10 Years .
The expected compensation for this role ranges from $80,000 to $158,000 .
Final compensation will depend on various factors, including your geographical location, minimum wage obligations, skills, and relevant experience. Based on the position, the role is also eligible for Wipro's standard benefits including a full range of medical and dental benefits options, disability insurance, paid time off (inclusive of sick leave), other paid and unpaid leave options.
