Role Purpose and Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Database (SQL Server) Lead to join our dynamic team at Wipro Technologies within the TS - Data Analytics & AI division. This role involves designing, testing, and maintaining robust software programs tailored for client deployment, ensuring these solutions comply with stringent quality assurance standards and deliver high performance. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in architecting scalable databases and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to facilitate seamless data access and integration.

As a technical leader, you will be responsible for guiding development teams through complex database challenges, champion performance tuning, security best practices, and ensure that our data architecture aligns with current and future business needs. Your expertise will help Wipro stay at the forefront of digital transformation by delivering innovative data solutions that empower our clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of scalable database schemas, ensuring data integrity and optimal performance.
• Create, maintain, and optimize complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers to support various application requirements.
• Collaborate with application developers, data engineers, and other stakeholders to design effective data access and integration strategies.
• Review and improve existing database designs with a focus on scalability, performance, and security.
• Manage database lifecycle including versioning, deployment, backup, and recovery procedures.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers and technical teams.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and Wipro’s quality assurance protocols.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance database operations and automation.

• Minimum of 5 years of extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server including database design, query optimization, and administration.
• At least 2 years of proven experience in a Technical Lead role, demonstrating leadership in delivering complex data solutions.
• Expert proficiency in designing and maintaining database schemas, including tables, indexes, views, and constraints to support diverse application needs.
• Strong ability to evaluate and enhance database designs to optimize performance, scalability, and security across environments.
• Advanced skills in writing and reviewing complex T-SQL scripts, stored procedures, triggers, and functions ensuring maintainability and efficiency.
• Experience supporting multidisciplinary application teams through effective data access and integration strategies.
• Familiarity with database monitoring tools, backup and recovery methods, and disaster recovery planning.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information clearly and persuasively.
