Role Purpose

As a Database (SQL Server) Lead at Wipro Technologies, you will play a critical role in ensuring the seamless performance and delivery of production database systems. Your mission is to support and oversee the daily operations of Production Specialists, swiftly resolve technical escalations, and foster the technical growth of the team. This role requires you to champion best practices in database management, promoting robust, scalable, and secure solutions.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including application developers, system administrators, and project managers to optimize database architectures and troubleshoot complex issues. Additionally, you will be responsible for monitoring and enhancing the efficiency of SQL Server environments, ensuring data integrity, availability, and performance across enterprise applications.

Embracing a leadership mindset, you will guide the team in adopting innovative technologies and methodologies, championing continuous learning and improvement. Your leadership will contribute directly to Wipro’s commitment to delivering excellence and driving digital transformation for our clients.

  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience managing and optimizing SQL Server databases in complex production environments.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a technical lead or similar position with demonstrated ability to lead and mentor technical teams.
  • Expertise in designing and maintaining comprehensive database schemas, including tables, indexes, views, and constraints tailored to business needs.
  • Proven skills in reviewing, tuning, and optimizing database designs to enhance performance, scalability, and security.
  • Advanced proficiency in writing, analyzing, and optimizing complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
  • Ability to collaborate with application development teams to implement efficient data access strategies and troubleshoot application-database interactions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on proactive incident resolution and continuous process improvement.
  • Experience with database security best practices, data protection, and compliance standards.
  • Solid understanding of backup, recovery, and high availability solutions within SQL Server environments.
