Secondary Skills: Docker, OpenShift, Maven, Ant, JFrog Artifactory, Bitbucket, JIRA, SAN/NAS Storage, Web Technologies (HTTP, JSON, XML), Network Infrastructure (TCP/IP, DNS, TLS, Load Balancers, Firewalls), Banking/Financial Domain Knowledge, Large-Scale Release Support (50+ Applications), Leadership & Incident/Triage Management

 

POSITION_SUMMARY:

The requested DevOps Engineer will work with Developer Experience Enterprise Engineering line of business across multiple Lower Level (primarily UNIX ) environments. The responsibilities include but are not limited to managing environments by minimizing environmental defects in an agile manner, deploying business and infrastructure software across both Lower Level and production environments for monthly releases, and implementing configurations and manual software changes. Multiple testing environments and servers and releases must be supported in parallel. Working one weekend shift a month is mandatory to support release efforts as well as participating in the weekly on-call rotation.

 

REQUIRED_SKILL:

•    Strong Unix background!!

•    4-year degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Communication, Information Technology with at least 5 years’ experience in the field

•    Proven leadership skills with record of excellent workmanship, dedication, and ownership

•    Proactive team member with a history of leading, implementing XLR, Jenkins and documenting process improvements who can step up and lead triage and customer support events who can think independently, be proactive and take initiative from little or no requirements

•    Self-starter with the ability to multi-task and prioritize daily workload

Additionally

•    Software Delivery using an automated toolset such as JIRA, Jenkins, Ansible Tower, XLR etc. (Minimum 4 years of experience)

•    UNIX/Linux Operating System and Infrastructure: SAN, NAS, filesystems, debugging server and service issues in single and multi-tier system and application architectures, system commands (Minimum 5 years of experience)

•    Understanding of Agile Software Delivery methodology

•     Ability to troubleshoot and analyse enterprise java applications end to end flow.

•    Experience with web application communication protocols - JSON, HTTP, XML, etc.

•    Understanding of web application architecture

·      Hands-on knowledge of UNIX Shell, Perl, Python, and similar scripting language (Minimum 5 years of experience)

•    Continuous Integration Deployment knowledge and hands on skill involving any or all of Jenkins, Maven/Ant, JFrog Artifactory, Bit Bucket, and similar CI/CD technologies

•    Exposure to Docker/OpenShift container technologies

·      Good Database experience – Comfortable using/writing SQL queries

•    The ability to communicate clearly and effectively (verbally and written) with the business and teammates

Desired Skill

"Exposure to financial, banking business processes, technologies, system, and process architecture

•    Experience supporting large scale releases (50+ applications)

•    Understanding of Network Infrastructure – HTTP/S, TCP/IP, TLS, DNS, Load Balancers, Firewalls.

•    Knowledge of Release Deploy Tools: Ansible Tower and XLRelease, Bitbucket.

Mandatory Skills: AWS Devops Operations .

 

Experience: 5-8 Years .

 

The expected compensation for this role ranges from $60,000 to $135,000 .

 

Final compensation will depend on various factors, including your geographical location, minimum wage obligations, skills, and relevant experience. Based on the position, the role is also eligible for Wipro's standard benefits including a full range of medical and dental benefits options, disability insurance, paid time off (inclusive of sick leave), other paid and unpaid leave options.
