SDET Architect

Job Description 

  • Define/update the E2E test strategy to align with business goals and development timelines.
  • Enhance the design to acheive a scalable and modular automation framework that supports early testing, mocking, and service virtualization.
  • Ensure the framework supports parallel execution, CI/CD integration, and cross-platform testing.
  • Advocate for early involvement of SDETs in sprint planning and design discussions.
  • Promote testability in architecture by influencing development practices (e.g., exposing APIs, adding hooks).
  • Guide teams to use contract testing, API mocks, and feature toggles to enable testing before full integration.
  • Collaborate with DevOps to ensure test environments are stable, isolated, and production-like.
  • Standardize tools adoption for UI automation, API testing (e.g., RestAssured, Postman), Service virtualization (e.g., WireMock, Mountebank) Test orchestration and reporting (e.g., Allure, TestNG, Jenkins)
  • Define coding standards, naming conventions, and test design patterns for automation.
  • Conduct code reviews and framework audits to ensure maintainability and reliability.
  • Work closely with SDETs, developers, and QA leads to align on test coverage and priorities.
  • Mentor SDETs on advanced automation techniques, mocking strategies, and performance testing.
  • Analyze test failures and flaky tests to improve stability.
  • Introduce AI/ML-based test optimization or smart test selection if applicable

Experience: 8-10 Years .

 

Expected annual pay for this role ranges from $80,000 to $158,000 . Based on the position, the role is also eligible for Wipro’s standard benefits including a full range of medical and dental benefits options, disability insurance, paid time off (inclusive of sick leave), other paid and unpaid leave options.
