About the Internship

Wipro is modernizing mission‑critical, domain‑specific platforms that power some of the world’s most complex industries—Mortgage Lending, Aviation, Telecom, Insurance, and Healthcare.

This internship is one integrated program, focused on platform modernization and scaling to new opportunities. Interns will have the opportunity to work on real engineering problems involving cloud-native architectures, microservices, APIs, data platforms, automation, and reliability engineering.

Interns are not pre-slotted into a specific technology offering or an industry domain. instead, Wipro will match interns to projects based on their interests, strengths, and any relevant prior exposure, ensuring the best learning and impact for both the intern and the team.

P͏rogram Structure (8 Weeks)

• Weeks 1–2:
  • Platform & domain onboarding
  • Architecture overview and problem framing
  • Tech stack deep dive with mentors
• Weeks 3–7:
  • Hands-on engineering on assigned platform components
  • Design reviews, code reviews, testing, and iterative delivery
  • Regular mentor check-ins
• Week 8:
  • Final solution stabilization
  • Demo and technical walkthrough
  • Reflection on learnings and next steps

D͏omain Exposure (Allocation Model)

This is an umbrella internship across five domains:

• Mortgage / Loan Origination platforms
• Aviation operations platforms
• Telecom service and order management platforms
• Insurance policy and claims platforms
• Healthcare technology platforms

How Allocation Works:

• All interns apply to the same program
• During onboarding, interns are mapped to projects based on and assessed on:
  • Prior coursework, internships, or projects (domain-specific or technical)
  • Demonstrated strengths in backend, frontend, data, or cloud engineering
  • Expressed interest in a domain (captured during the application or interviews)
• Prior domain experience is helpful but not mandatory — learning ability and engineering fundamentals matter most

R͏esponsibilities

What You’ll Work On

Depending on the project, you may:

• Modernize legacy components into cloud‑native, microservice-based architectures
• Build or improve APIs that enable different systems to exchange data reliably using request‑based (REST) and real‑time, event‑driven approaches.
• Improve platform scalability, reliability, and performance
• Contribute to developer experience, CI/CD automation, or observability
• Work with real enterprise data flows and integration patterns

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and test software components for modern platforms
• Contribute to design documents, APIs, and data models
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
• Participate in code reviews and agile ceremonies
• Add logging, metrics, and basic monitoring to services you build
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and domain experts
• Present your work clearly in demos and documentation

W͏ho Should Apply

We’re looking for curious, hands-on engineering students who enjoy solving real problems.

Required:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
• Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and software design
• Proficiency in at least one programming language
• Ability to work full-time for the 8‑week internship period in the US

Preferred (not mandatory):

• Coursework or projects in distributed systems, cloud, or data platforms
• Previous internships, research projects, or substantial personal projects
• Any exposure to one of the domains (finance, healthcare, telecom, etc.)

Location:

The internship will be conducted remotely within the United States.

About AI Native Business & Platforms Unit

This is the newest unit created on 1st April 2026 within Wipro. The unit will host Wipro intelligence platforms & platform centric industry solutions and incubate AI native businesses for Wipro.

a. Industry platforms: NetOxygen (AI powered lending platform), Aviation platforms CROAMIS (Integrated cargo operations) and TOPS (Flight and crew operations), Healthcare platforms such as IHS & HPS

b. Platform centric Industry solutions targeted at solving specific client business challenges across and within specific industries. E.g. Enterprise Telco AI platform

c. Our Delivery platforms: WINGS (for managed services work) and WEGA (for all the build and transform related work)
