SAP Program Manager

 

Role Overview

 

We are seeking an experienced SAP Program Manager to lead large‑scale SAP S/4HANA transformation programs for enterprise customers in Germany and Europe. The role requires deep expertise across S/4HANA implementations, global rollouts, and Application Management Services (AMS), combined with strong leadership capabilities, customer‑facing experience, and exposure to AI‑driven innovations within the SAP ecosystem.

This is a senior leadership role responsible for end‑to‑end program ownership, stakeholder management at CXO level, governance, delivery excellence, and business outcomes.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Own end‑to‑end delivery of complex SAP programs including S/4HANA Greenfield, Brownfield, and Selective Data Transition engagements
  • Lead global SAP rollouts and long‑term AMS engagements, ensuring service continuity, operational excellence, and SLA adherence
  • Act as the single point of accountability for large, multi‑vendor SAP programs with budgets running into multi‑million euros
  • Manage and govern global, cross‑functional teams across Europe, India, and other offshore / nearshore locations
  • Engage with enterprise customers and CXO stakeholders, building trusted advisor relationships and driving strategic conversations
  • Establish strong program governance, including steering committees, risk management, financial tracking, and compliance
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation, leveraging AI technologies such as SAP Business AI, automation, analytics, and intelligent operations
  • Partner with sales and presales teams to support pursuits, solution shaping, program transitions, and account growth
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards, security, compliance, and German / EU regulatory requirements

Required Experience & Skills

  • 18+ years of overall IT experience, with at least 12–15 years in SAP program leadership roles
  • Proven track record of managing large SAP S/4HANA implementations, global rollouts, and AMS programs for enterprise customers
  • Strong experience working with German customers, understanding local business culture and delivery expectations
  • German language proficiency at minimum B2 level (mandatory) and fluent English
  • Extensive experience in managing large, distributed global teams and multiple stakeholders
  • Strong knowledge of SAP landscapes including S/4HANA, ECC, SAP BTP, Integration, and AMS models
  • Exposure to AI and intelligent technologies within SAP or enterprise transformation programs (automation, analytics, AI‑enabled operations)
  • Excellent program governance, financial management, risk management, and escalation handling skills
  • Strong customer‑facing, communication, and leadership capabilities

Preferred / Good to Have

  • Experience in regulated industries such as Energy, Utilities, Manufacturing, Retail, or Financial Services
  • Prior experience working with hyperscalers (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) in SAP programs
  • SAP certifications (S/4HANA, Program / Project Management)
  • Experience transitioning programs from implementation to steady‑state AMS
  • Exposure to transformation roadmaps, M&A integration, or carve‑out programs
