Job Description

Key Responsibilities
1. Own AI architecture and delivery
o Design end to end AI workflows using LLMs (e.g., Claude), including orchestration, fallback, and human in the loop patterns.
2. Define AI engineering standards
o Establish prompt conventions, structured output schemas, confidence scoring, latency targets, and cost controls aligned with customer platform guidelines.
3. Lead AI feature implementation
o Guide delivery of AI features such as order intake from email/SMS, conversational BI, monitoring alerts, and document intelligence.
4. Ensure production readiness and trust
o Own non-functional requirements: observability, explainability, audit logs, security boundaries, and safe fail behavior.
5. Collaborate with customer engineering leadership
o Work closely with the Engineering Platform Head and SRE teams to ensure AI features operate within platform constraints and SLAs.
6. Mentor AI engineers and reviewers
o Review designs and code, mentor AI application engineers, and raise overall AI engineering quality across teams.

Required Skills & Experience
• 8+ years in software engineering, with 3+ years in AI/ML or LLM based systems
• Strong experience with LLM APIs, prompt design, and structured output validation
• Proven experience building production AI features (not prototypes only)
• Solid backend fundamentals (APIs, async workflows, data integrity)
• Experience with cloud environments (AWS preferred)
• Ability to balance speed vs correctness in regulated or financial workflows
 
Nice to Have
• Experience in ERP, fintech, supply chain, or compliance heavy domains
• Familiarity with AI cost optimization and token budgeting
• Prior experience working with offshore or distributed teams
