Job Description: AKS Architect

Location: Pune, Maharashtra (or other Wipro FullStride Cloud locations)

Experience: 8+ years in cloud architecture, with at least 3 years in AKS and Kubernetes

Employment Type: Full-time

Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned AKS Architect to lead the design, deployment, and optimization of Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) environments for enterprise-grade applications. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in cloud-native architecture, container orchestration, and DevOps practices, and will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, secure, and resilient solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Architect and implement AKS clusters for high-availability and performance.

Design hybrid cloud reference architectures and define target state cloud architecture.

Lead infrastructure provisioning using Terraform or ARM templates.

Collaborate with DevOps, SREs, and development teams to streamline CI/CD pipelines (GitLab preferred).

Ensure observability, logging, and alerting using Prometheus, Grafana, and Azure Monitor.

Apply DevSecOps principles to enforce security and compliance in AKS deployments.

Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams.

Optimize cloud resource allocation to balance performance and cost.

Required Skills

Strong hands-on experience with AKS, Kubernetes, Docker, Helm.

Proficiency in Azure services: APIM, Cosmos DB, Azure AI Search, Azure OpenAI.

Infrastructure as Code: Terraform (preferred), ARM templates.

CI/CD: GitLab pipelines, MLFlow (for MLOps contexts).

Monitoring: Prometheus, Grafana, Azure-native tools.

Scripting: PowerShell, Bash, Python.

Cloud security and compliance frameworks.

Preferred Qualifications

Microsoft Azure certification (Architect or DevOps track).

Application Architecture Experience with .NET or Java design patterns.

Familiarity with .NET 8, React JS, and Cosmos DB is a plus.

Exposure to enterprise environments and stakeholder engagement.

3.Competency Building and Branding

  • Ensure completion of necessary trainings and certifications
  • Develop Proof of Concepts (POCs),case studies, demos etc. for new growth areas based on market and customer research 
  • Develop and present a point of view of Wipro on solution design and architect by writing white papers, blogs etc. 
  • Attain market referencability and recognition through highest analyst rankings, client testimonials and partner credits 
  • Be the voice of Wipro’s Thought Leadership by speaking in forums (internal and external) 
  • Mentor developers, designers and Junior architects in the project for their further career development and enhancement
  • Contribute to the architecture practice by conducting selection interviews etc

    • Hire adequate and right resources for the team

    • Ensure adequate onboarding and training for the team members to enhance capability & effectiveness
    • Build an internal talent pool and ensure their career progression within the organization
    • Manage team attrition 
    • Drive diversity in leadership positions
  • Performance Management
    • Set goals for the team, conduct timely performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to own direct reports
    • Ensure that the Performance Nxt is followed for the entire team
  • Employee Satisfaction and Engagement
    • Lead and drive engagement initiatives for the team
    • Track team satisfaction scores and identify initiatives to build engagement within the team
Mandatory Skills: Cloud-Microsoft Azure .
