Job Description – QA Engineer (API & TOSCA Testing)

 

Experience: 5–6 Years

Location: Coimbatore/Pune

Position: QA Engineer / Test Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled QA Engineer with 5–6 years of experience in API Testing and TOSCA Automation. This role requires strong technical expertise in validating backend services, designing API test strategies, and developing automation using TOSCA.

TOSCA experience and training are mandatory, with a strong expectation that the candidate can design, build, and maintain a TOSCA automation framework from scratch, including reusable components, standards, and governance.

Candidates with AS1 and AS2 certifications will be preferred.

 

Key Responsibilities

✅ API Testing

Perform REST and SOAP API testing using Postman, SOAP UI, Swagger, or equivalent.

Validate complete API workflows including:

Request/response structure validation

Header validations

Authentication: OAuth, JWT, Basic Auth, API Keys

Query & path parameters

Error handling, exception flows, and status codes

Design and execute API test cases for:

Functional & integration testing

Contract testing (OpenAPI/Swagger)

Regression testing

Boundary, negative, and data driven scenarios

Analyze backend logs, failures, and service behaviour for troubleshooting.

Validate API interactions with downstream systems, DBs, message brokers, and microservices.

Work closely with developers for issue triage and debugging.

Maintain API test datasets and ensure high scenario coverage.

Contribute to API automation where applicable via TOSCA API Scan.

✅ TOSCA Automation

Design and develop a robust TOSCA automation framework from scratch, including:

Core folder structures

Test configuration setup

Standardized naming conventions

Common reusable modules & templates

Reusable technical bindings

Centralized execution lists

Parameterization and test data strategy

Error handling and recovery scenarios

Develop & maintain end-to-end automated regression suites.

Build reusable TOSCA Modules, custom controls, and standardized business components.

Implement TestCase Design (TCD) for scalable data-driven automation.

Manage TOSCA repositories and workspace optimization (Multi User Workspace preferred).

Ensure adherence to automation best practices, TOSCA standards, and governance.

Integrate TOSCA execution with CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps/Jenkins) – nice to have.

Perform root cause analysis for automation failures and optimize execution stability.

Continuously enhance automation coverage based on business needs.

Requirement Analysis and Documentation-Create technical requirement documents basis the inputs received from clients through discussions and demos.

Creation of test cases-Create test cases basis the functional requirements ensuring test coverage across multiple modules.

Test Data and Environment Setup-Create data validation scenarios and set up test environment in collaboration with the client stakeholder.

Test Execution and Result Analysis -"Execute functional and regression testing to identify defects and document the result of the test cases.

Prepare test evidence and test review documents.

Log and update the defect status in the test management tool."
