Role: Cryptography Architect / Consultant/

  • HSM Platforms (Thales / Entrust)
  • PKCS#11
  • Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)
  • Applied Cryptography
  • PCI and EMV domain knowledge

Core Skillset: Cryptography and HSM

  • Required Technical Expertise:
  •  
  • End-to-end solution architecture ownership
  • Technology strategy and roadmap definition
  • Design authority and governance leadership
  • Engineering standards and oversight
  • Multi-region platform leadership and execution
  •  

Market Perspective:  — This is not a conventional Java development role. The requirement demands a rare combination of expertise in:

  • Payment Security
  • HSM Engineering
  • PKI
  • Cryptography
  • PCI PIN / PCI DSS
  • EMV
  • Highly Available Security Platforms

 

Given the niche nature of the role, the ideal talent pool should include specialists with experience in organizations and platforms such as Thales, Entrust, Mastercard, Visa, HPE Atalla, Utimaco, or banking environments with strong PKI/HSM backgrounds. Recommendation to Talent Acquisition:

  • 15+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Proven ownership of HSM architecture and platforms
  • Deep expertise in payment cryptography
  • Leadership experience managing enterprise PKI platforms
  • Prior experience with Mastercard, Visa, or banking security platforms

Area of Responsibility

Requirement Analysis-Coordinate with business and development teams to understand application-specific requirements relating to module-level needs, data flows, and integration expectations.

Designing-Create high level application architecture designs across application and database layers to ensure alignment with defined design guidelines, including frameworks, patterns, protocols, API design.

Integration assessment and support-Assess and evaluate applicationâ s interaction with existing systems, databases, and infrastructure to validate integration feasibility.

Troubleshooting-Support application testing after deployment and help validate functional behaviour of application design.
