: Lead DevOps & Cloud Engineer (AWS/GCP | Banking/FinTech)
Role Overview
We are looking for a Lead DevOps & Cloud Engineer with deep expertise in cloud-native architectures, platform engineering, and SRE practices to design and operate mission-critical systems in a highly regulated (Banking/FinTech) environment.
The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong ownership of multi-region infrastructure, API platforms, automation-first operations, and resilience engineering, with a focus on security, compliance, and high availability.
Key Responsibilities
1. Cloud & Platform Engineering
- Architect and manage multi-region deployments on AWS and GCP
- Design highly available, fault-tolerant systems with RTO/RPO objectives
- Build and maintain Kubernetes platforms (GKE/EKS) for microservices
- Implement cloud-native patterns (autoscaling, distributed systems, CDN)
2. DevOps & Infrastructure Automation
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform
- Build CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions / Jenkins / GitLab CI
- Drive GitOps practices and environment standardization
- Automate patching, provisioning, and operational workflows
3. API Gateway & Integration Platforms
- Design and manage API Gateway platforms using
- Kong API Gateway
- MuleSoft
- Configure routing, security policies, rate limiting, and upstream services
- Work with reverse proxies (Nginx) and API lifecycle management
4. Reliability Engineering & Incident Management
- Define and implement SLO, SLI, and Error Budgets
- Lead Major Incident Management (MIM) and root cause analysis
- Build self-healing systems and reduce MTTR
- Drive chaos testing and resilience improvements
5. Observability & Monitoring
- Implement monitoring and logging using:
- Splunk
- Prometheus
- Grafana
- AppDynamics
- Establish proactive alerting and anomaly detection

- Resourcing
- Forecast talent requirements as per the current and future business needs
- Hire adequate and right resources for the team
- Train direct reportees to make right recruitment and selection decisions
- Talent Management
- Ensure 100% compliance to WiproâÂÂs standards of adequate onboarding and training for team members to enhance capability & effectiveness
- Build an internal talent pool of HiPos and ensure their career progression within the organization
- Promote diversity in leadership positions
- Performance Management
- Set goals for direct reportees, conduct timely performance reviews and appraisals, and give constructive feedback to direct reports.
- Ensure that organizational programs like Performance Nxt are well understood and that the team is taking the opportunities presented by such programs to their and their levels below
- Employee Satisfaction and Engagement
- Lead and drive engagement initiatives for the team
- Track team satisfaction scores and identify initiatives to build engagement within the team
- Proactively challenge the team with larger and enriching projects/ initiatives for the organization or team
- Exercise employee recognition and appreciation
