Network Engineer Job Description- B3
The Network Engineer is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of a 600 + site network utilizing SD-WAN and other advanced network infrastructures. This role involves installing, monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing networks to ensure high availability and performance. The engineer also collaborates with other IT professionals to develop and enforce network policies and best practices. Key responsibilities include:
Implementing advanced network solutions to meet organizational needs.
Monitoring network performance and troubleshooting complex issues.
Maintaining and updating network security measures and policies.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize network efficiency.
Conducting regular network performance assessments and capacity planning.
Configuration of network gear and installation for both new and refresh of equipment.

Developing and documenting technical procedures and guidelines for network management.
Providing third-level support for network-related issues and incidents.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to align network requirements with business objectives.
Leading projects of critical importance to the campus or organization.
Assisting with critical strategic and operational goals and developing new products, processes, standards, or operational plans to achieve strategies.
On Call:
This role does require working on-call on a rotational basis.
Preferences:
Strong proficiency in network security concepts and best practices, experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools, and excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Advanced certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) .
Experience with Cisco IOS, switches and routers, Meraki Access Points.
Experience with Fortinet firewalls a plus

- Lead and drive engagement initiatives for the team
- Track team satisfaction scores and identify initiatives to build engagement within the team
