Required Skills and Experience
- 7–10 years of progressive experience in Endpoint Security Engineering / Infrastructure Design in a large enterprise environment.
- Deep expertise in Trellix (McAfee) Endpoint Security Suite
- Proven experience designing HA and DR architectures for endpoint management systems.
- Strong understanding of Windows Server, SQL Server, Active Directory, and network fundamentals.
- Hands-on experience with automation and scripting (PowerShell, Python, or similar).
- Familiarity with security event correlation and integration with SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar, Sentinel).
- Working knowledge of ITIL processes, Agile methodology, and change management within enterprise IT.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Infrastructure Design & Architecture
- Design, build, and maintain the security product infrastructure including database servers, Agent Handlers, and load balancing mechanisms for Trellix ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO) and other security products supported as part of team portfolio.
- Define and document high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) configurations to ensure service continuity across data centers.
- Architect endpoint protection deployment strategies for large enterprise environments across global regions and multiple domains.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, network, and platform teams to ensure optimal performance and compliance with enterprise security standards.

2. Product Engineering & Evaluation
- Lead Proof of Concept (PoC) evaluations for new product versions, components, and feature releases.
- Assess compatibility, performance impact, and policy behavior through controlled testing and risk-based analysis.
- Recommend adoption strategies and rollout plans based on technical evaluation and business priorities.
- Develop and maintain test frameworks for validating security policies, update mechanisms, and client communication.

3. Service Ownership & Governance
- Act as the Service Owner for the Endpoint Protection platform products, accountable for service availability, compliance, and continuous improvement.
- Define service SLAs, KPIs and performance baselines in alignment with IT Service Management (ITSM) standards.
- Maintain end-to-end service documentation including runbooks, architecture diagrams, escalation matrices, and configuration baselines.
- Coordinate with internal audit, risk, and compliance teams to ensure adherence to organizational and regulatory requirements.

4. Policy Design & Security Alignment
- Design and review product policies (Trellix and other security products supported as part of team portfolio).
- Conduct impact analysis and performance testing to validate new policy configurations before deployment.
- Collaborate with Cybersecurity Leads to align endpoint policies with the enterprise threat landscape and security framework (NIST, CIS).
- Support the development of security baselines for various device types and user groups.

5. Operations, Incident, and Crisis Management
- Provide Level 4 engineering escalation support for complex or multi-site endpoint protection incidents.
- Lead crisis calls during high-severity incidents impacting endpoint protection services or end-user productivity.
- Drive root cause analysis (RCA and implement long-term preventive actions.
- Partner with production support teams to enhance stability, automate monitoring, and ensure consistent service recovery mechanisms.

6. Collaboration, Leadership & Documentation
- Partner with cybersecurity, server, network, and IT operations teams to deliver coordinated, enterprise-wide endpoint security solutions.
- Present design proposals, PoC findings, and risk assessments to senior IT management and cybersecurity leadership.
- Mentor and guide L3 engineers, fostering technical growth and adherence to engineering best practices.
- Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date documentation for architecture, configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Trellix Certified Engineer or Administrator certification will be added advantage.
- Experience with other endpoint protection or EDR platforms (CrowdStrike, Defender for Endpoint, SentinelOne, Bitlocker).
- Exposure to cloud endpoint security (Azure, AWS) and Zero Trust architectures will be added advantage.
- Other industry known security certifications.

This is a senior technical role within the 'Endpoint Protection Engineering team', responsible for designing, building, and maintaining a highly available, secure, and scalable endpoint protection infrastructure based on the 'Trellix Endpoint Security Suite' (formerly McAfee) and other security products supported as part of team portfolio.
This position combines engineering expertise, service ownership, and strategic technical leadership. The incumbent will lead infrastructure design, Proof of Concepts (PoCs) for new products or releases, policy definition through data-driven testing, and cross-functional collaboration with cybersecurity, operations, and IT service management teams.
