Job Description: Network EngineeringRole SummaryIn this Network Engineering role, the engineer designs, builds, standardizes, and continuously improves enterprise WAN, LAN, Data Centre, Campus, Branch, and ATM networks. The role drives adoption of modern technologies including Cisco SD-WAN (Viptela), Cisco DNA Center (DNAC), network automation, and ThousandEyes-based visibility to deliver a secure, resilient, scalable, and operationally efficient network.Key Responsibilities1. Network Engineering (WAN / LAN)Design, implement, and support enterprise WAN and LAN architectures across data center, campus, branch, and remote sites.Own routing and switching design and troubleshooting, including:OSPFEIGRPBGPVLANsSTPHSRP/VRRPQoSMulticastVRFMPLSInternet underlayLead capacity planning, FIM compliance, high-availability improvements, and root cause analysis for major incidents.Plan and execute network upgrades, migrations, refreshes, and site rollouts with minimal service impact.2. SD-WAN (Cisco Viptela)Design, deploy, and operate Cisco SD-WAN at scale (vManage, vSmart, vBond, vEdge/cEdge).Define and manage centralized policies including:Application-aware routingQoSSegmentationSecurityData policiesBuild and maintain device and feature templates.Manage onboarding, software upgrades, and lifecycle management.Optimize WAN transport utilization (MPLS, broadband, LTE/5G) for performance and cost.3. Campus Automation & Assurance (Cisco DNA Center)Deploy and operate Cisco DNA Center for:DiscoveryInventoryDesignProvisioningPolicy managementAssuranceLeverage DNAC templates, SWIM (Software Image Management), and Plug and Play (PnP) capabilities.Support SDAccess / ISE policy-based segmentation where applicable.4. Visibility & Monitoring (ThousandEyes)Deploy and manage ThousandEyes agents (enterprise, endpoint, and cloud).Build dashboards and alerts to proactively identify performance issues.Correlate ThousandEyes, DNAC, and SD-WAN telemetry to improve MTTD and MTTR.7. New Technology Adoption & InnovationEvaluate and pilot emerging technologies such as:SASEZero TrustWi-Fi 6E/7Cloud networkingAIOpsNetwork observabilityProvide recommendations and business cases for adoption.Mentor peers and drive continuous improvement initiatives.8.
