The ITOM ServiceNow Developer is responsible for developing, configuring, and supporting ServiceNow IT Operations Management (ITOM) solutions. This role focuses on discovery (Cloud and On premise), service mapping, CMDB health and CSDM concepts, and integrations to ensure accurate infrastructure visibility and operational efficiency.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Configure, and develop ServiceNow ITOM modules including:
    • Discovery
    • Cloud Discovery
    • Maintain CMDB with CSDM concepts.
    • Service Mapping
  • Troubleshoot discovery issues/Incidents on various devices and optimize performance.
  • Implement and maintain ServiceNow Discovery patterns, schedules, credentials, and probes.
  • Ensure CMDB data quality by implementing identification rules, reconciliation, normalization, and health dashboards.
  • Configure Service Mapping for business services and ensure accurate dependency mapping.
  • Develop server-side and client-side scripts using JavaScript, Business Rules, Script Includes, UI Policies, and Client Scripts.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, and operations teams for onboarding and service mapping.
  • Support platform upgrades, patching, and best-practice implementations.
  • Prepare technical documentation and provide knowledge transfer to support teams.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 4+ years of experience as a ServiceNow Developer, with strong focus on ITOM.
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Discovery & Service Mapping
    • CMDB & CSDM concepts
  • Strong knowledge of ServiceNow scripting (JavaScript).
  • Experience with REST/SOAP integrations and MID Server configuration.
  • Good understanding of infrastructure technologies (Windows, Linux, Networks, Cloud – AWS/Azure/GCP).
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • ServiceNow certifications such as:
    • Certified System Administrator (CSA)
    • CIS: Discovery
