The Technical Lead – Automation will lead the technical delivery of server software lifecycle automation, owning solution design, standards, governance, and team execution across Windows and UNIX/RHEL streams. The role will ensure automation aligns with enterprise controls, integrates with ServiceNow, and delivers measurable operational efficiency and compliance outcomes.

Technical Leadership & Governance

  • Own end-to-end technical delivery for automation workstreams, including solution architecture, delivery planning, quality controls, and release governance.
  • Define and enforce automation standards (coding conventions, modularization, reuse, security practices, credential handling, naming/versioning).
  • Establish operating model for Ansible Tower/AWX/AAP usage: RBAC model, inventory strategy, credential segregation, workflow orchestration standards, and audit logs.

Solution Delivery & Integration

  • Lead design and implementation of automation for lifecycle stages (requirements → assessment → planning → execution → handover/support). [
  • Drive ServiceNow integration architecture for automation triggers and ticket lifecycle updates (incidents/changes/requests/CMDB sync/approvals).
  • Ensure design includes pre/post checks, rollback planning, exception handling, and compliance evidence generation.

Engineering Execution & Mentoring

  • Guide Senior Developers and Engineers through code reviews, design reviews, and troubleshooting of complex defects.
  • Act as escalation point for L3/L4 issues involving automation failures, platform edge cases, and integration reliability.
  • Drive documentation completeness (runbooks, SOPs, KT artifacts) and ensure operations readiness for steady-state.

  • Deep hands-on expertise in Ansible automation (advanced roles, patterns, templating, idempotency, modular design).
  • Strong administration and architectural expertise in Ansible Tower/AWX/AAP (workflows, inventories, credentials, RBAC, logging).
  • Strong experience in ServiceNow integration and ITSM process alignment for automation-driven operations.
  • Proficiency with Python/PowerShell/Shell for building supporting tooling, validations, and integrations.
  • Strong experience with Git and release governance in enterprise environments.
  • Cross-platform understanding of Windows + UNIX/RHEL operational requirements relevant to lifecycle automation.

Experience / Qualifications

  • Typically, 8–12 years overall with 3+ years leading automation delivery or platform engineering teams in enterprise environments.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering lifecycle automation programs at scale and operationalizing them into steady-state execution.
