Role Purpose


The purpose of this role is to provide significant technical expertise in architecture planning and design of the concerned tower (platform, database, middleware, backup etc) as well as managing its day-to-day operations

  • Patch Management Strategy: Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive patch management processes for all Windows Server systems across the enterprise, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Patching Tool Expertise: Leverage advanced knowledge of SCCM, Jetpatch, ManageEngine, and WSUS to schedule, deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot patching activities.
  • Automation & Scripting: Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts and automation routines to streamline patch deployment, compliance reporting, and exception handling.
  • Security & Compliance: Collaborate with the Network Security and System Auditing teams to ensure all Windows systems comply with internal policies and industry regulations. Remediate vulnerabilities identified during security reviews and audits.
  • Active Directory Integration: Ensure patch management activities are aligned with Active Directory structures, group policies, and organizational units, maintaining security and access controls.
  • Troubleshooting: Provide expert-level troubleshooting and root cause analysis for patch deployment failures, system performance issues, and compatibility challenges.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Generate detailed reports on patch compliance, vulnerabilities addressed, and outstanding risks. Maintain precise documentation of processes, configurations, and remediation actions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Assess and enhance existing patch management workflows. Stay current on emerging patch management technologies and recommend improvements to the organization’s patching posture.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with IT operations, security, application, and compliance teams to schedule patch windows, communicate risks, and execute updates with minimal business impact.

    • Forecast talent requirements as per the current and future business needs
    • Hire adequate and right resources for the team 
    • Train direct reportees to make right recruitment and selection decisions 
  • Talent Management
    • Ensure 100% compliance to Wipro’s standards of adequate onboarding and training for team members to enhance capability & effectiveness
    • Build an internal talent pool of HiPos and ensure their career progression within the organization
    • Promote diversity in leadership positions
  • Performance Management
    • Set goals for direct reportees, conduct timely performance reviews and appraisals, and give constructive feedback to direct reports.
    • Ensure that organizational programs like Performance Nxt are well understood and that the team is taking the opportunities presented by such programs to their and their levels below
  • Employee Satisfaction and Engagement
    • Lead and drive engagement initiatives for the team
    • Track team satisfaction scores and identify initiatives to build engagement within the team
    • Proactively challenge the team with larger and enriching projects/ initiatives for the organization or team 
    • Exercise employee recognition and appreciation
